2023 F150 Lightning XLT ER owner here since Dec 2023 ..... I've previously owned gas-powered F150's with the last one being a top of of line Lariot, and I agree .... This Lightning is hands down the best vehicle I've ever owned and most certainly the fastest/most responsive. I drive a lot of miles, so I currently have 30k miles with zero issues. I'm still waiting on my Tesla adapter from Ford, but purchased an A2Z adapter for the interim simply for road trips .... I thin I've used it twice, with the first time being a matter of simply just trying it out. I have solar and pay, basically nothing to charge it, saving me hundreds of $ a week over driving a gas vehicle daily. Only regret is not getting a Lariot with Blue Cruise ..... What prevented me from doing so was Fords asinine decision to price the MSRP of Lariots just a few thousand $$ above the threshold to qualify for the $7500 tax incentive .... No way was I walking away from that $7500 credit just because Ford thought no one would care ..... Huge FAIL on Fords part because this boondoggle undoubtedly stopped many from buying the higher priced trims, causing a needlessly stupid loss of upgrade profits.

I Saw another KZbinr who said he regretted getting his lightning, but the reasons he gave were, in my opinion, trivial. He actually said the ride was not smooth and he likes to drive with his windows down and it was too loud... 🤦 And he mentioned towing to his grandmother's house, which was hundreds of miles away, was difficult. Who the hell tows items to grandmother's on a regular basis? And he actually said, even charging at home was expensive and not much cheaper than gas. I live in a very rural area in the south so I'm hesitant to get an electric vehicle due to lack of charging stations unless I go into the city. Do you have a charging station installed at your house? Is it a regular 220v outlet like a standard electric dryer plug-in? Also, what increase in your electric bill have you noticed? lastly, what benefits/cons do you notice in price and time vs connivence over refueling at a gas station have you noticed?
@TheRealDlo3 ай бұрын
THIS is the type of conversation we should be having. Great questions man! 1) I installed a 220v in my garage (Like a dryer plug - It cost $500 to pay a guy to help me install it) 2) I see about a $30 a month increase to utility bill. 3) For ME, I charge at home each night and almost NEVER charge in public, so I personally SAVE time by having an EV I haven't went to a gas station in 2 years, its awesome :)

@@smoothieking157Seems like it would be perfect for the average rural resident. Drive around all day, run to town if you have some errands. Plug in at night. Avoid paying for gas , especially since the rural gas stations often charge more. In fact it’s likely MORE suitable for the rural person since most rural residents live in single family homes and often already have a breaker box outside to power their deep well. They can easily add another breaker to the outside breaker box and run the outlet wherever they want it.

I want the F150 but feel there is more value in the Tesla sentry mode. What is your opinion on sentry mode? Does it have it, can they include it? I find Ford went backwards with their trim levels. I feel I want a basic level, 2wd but extended range. My understanding is that at least here Pro trim extended not available. Your lucky to be charged only 18 cents per kwh. Here fees are 30 cents to 50 cents. Furthermore, I heard some stations charge by the time and there are mins like 30 min or one hour. So if I only need 20 min, I still get charged 1 hour. Not fair. Do you know anything about that? When you start using tesla charging, please talk about that experience. Membership fees, costs, ipside and downs. Ty

My town in socal does not have a single charger and there are allot of evs and it borders a well traveled freeway . Now 20 miles north and south no problem. Now for such a short time evs are available its amazing you can make a long trip work but it can be so much better if you had charging comparable to the convenience of gas stations and that will come .
