Based on my Expirience, Call Centers in general have provided me with the opportunity to practice, sharpen and enhance my habilities to solve a variety of issues. Granted, things get complicated and you may expirience a little bit of frustration sometimes but, Nothing is easy, and when you take advantage of the people you meet, all the training you get along the way, you come out of it stronger, wiser and ready to face and deal with the daily complications you may encounter in other areas of your life.

I do customer service over the phone for a call center for 8-9 hours a day in my ear all day. My job is to make them happy when they are unhappy. I get yelled at,sworn at,told I`m stupid and hung up on. Some people tell me they appreciate me,but that`s far and in between. I have to use my head first when they start yelling at me, not to hang up on them for I will get fired. By the end of the day I`m emotionally and physically exhausted. My brain is fried. I have worked in stores before. I think it`s much,much easier. Just saying. :)

My advice, drink the tea....the company tea. If they tell you say things a certain way, do so. Memorize it, live it. Have a timer on your desk, lots and lots of water. If you cannot work under pressure, do 10 things at once, not take it personally...this job isnt for you.

Practice your language training as best and as often as you can. That will be a key aspect of your training. Ask for extra help if you are not sure about your progress. It sounds like you may be in a sales program. The "warming up" part means you are passing a customer over to a sales validation process AFTER you have convinced them to buy the product or service. (my guess). Good luck to you.

I think it is a matter of perspective. In Central America, the Philippines and South Asia, these types of jobs are well paying. As the industry grows, it creates many opportunities for advancement into leadership roles in managing people, telephony, reporting and analysis, Client management and more. No one needs to be "trapped" in any job, if they are willing to work hard and apply themselves.

Iñaki, You should be able to find a lot of opportunities in Manila. Cebu, Bacolod and Iloilo are also growing cities for Customer Service. Apply to any of the major companies like Transcom, Convergys, Teleperformance, Sitel, etc. Let them know you want a sales program. Companies are always looking for sales people. Frankly your "type" is harder to find, so they should be very pleased to talk to you. Good sales people make more $'s. Good luck to you.

It is a tough job no doubt about it. But no other "job" has as many career paths into Sales, Account Management, Client Services, IT, Communications as this field does. When you can learn to work with customers, people, processes and procedures, many doors will open. Any job can become a career and any career can be just a job. It's what the person wants to make of it.

@CareforCustomers11 жыл бұрын
The training should happen before the mock calls. 1) Pay close attention during training & ask questions about anything you do not understand. Don't feel shy about asking questions. 2) Ask if you can sit in and listen to LIVE calls after your scheduled training day. Nothing is more helpful then seeing and hearing an agent handle live calls. Do this for at least 4 hours. You may not get paid for that, but if passing is important to you, then this will help you a lot. Good luck to you.

Is there's any break time? fyi, It's started at 5:00 in the morning until 2:30pm or maybe until 5 or until the night for OT. Secondly, am I allowed to bring/using any other product into the company (like an iPad which is not an IBM brand) for me to use during the training to record, etc.
