Household work is not only women’s work, when will the society understand? Why is grihasthi chalane ka jimma sirf aurat pe? (Why is it the responsibility of running a household only on a woman?) And, when a man helps, it becomes a big thing. Also, people who think they’ll surely share the household work with their future wife, why not start out by sharing it with your mother? Call out for every man to recognize the househusband title as not demeaning or a badge of dishonor but just a responsibility. And that includes making our children learn the value of everything keeping gender roles aside and not looking at household works in a different way of what every boy or man tends to grow up and see it as something a disgrace to their masculinity (or shall I say the so-called masculinity). More than what's the video's topic is focused on, we should go a little above than that and actually see the real improvements that can be done and actually shall be done in the real-life as well. Why we have to look at it as something any specific gender will do, and not just a responsibility? There's a problem with the Indian society, and maybe all over the world that women are supposed to take care of the household work. Men will not even dare to touch the mops, duster, dishwasher, scrub, sponge, etc. Because it's a women's job society says. "Men are just not good at this." Are they really not good, or you're just believing it because it exists in a long-running history? When I decided to be a proud househusband for my coming future... Guess what? I was told no respect would be left if I become one. The reason for me to become one was pretty simple in front of me. The same point I am hearing since I was a teenager, either directly as a suggestion, or indirectly as information - becoming the responsible financial head and a wealthy man with useful social skills to be able to take care of my future family that involves my wife and the kids. And trust me, I have never been good with the numbers. The financial topics, understanding the economics of everything, finding ways to double the money I have in my hand, making investments share market, stock and etc. etc... I have never been able to understand these topics even a bit. And I still can't get them properly in my head. But - I'm a man with really deep and intense emotions and feelings. I really care deeply about the people around me and the way I love, I really am confident that I'll always be able to keep everyone happy in my family because the way I care about them. Yes, I have still not become that responsible for managing AND actually doing the household works. Though, I have cook a few things but not really much. I'm still learning and I know I'll become good at these things. Nevertheless, I love cooking new kinds of dishes once in a while. ;) Men... Not everything is to be taken into consideration in relation to your ego satisfaction. Money is not everything. If you are not that kind of a person who is good at multiplying numbers or think of strategies to earn more money just so you can become someone's "perfect choice" for a "perfect groom" to become a "perfect husband", it's all okay. It is really all okay. You don't have to be conventional. Not all things are to be done for survival in the name of obligations... Somethings are just done by heart.

@@jharnasarkar82 You should try to work in a corporate office rather than spewing your bullshit here on youtube. People give you more salary because they provide you with more responsibilities. No one pays someone a lot of money for easy work and if a woman thinks that she's being paid less in a company then get out and move to another company. It's not her husband's fault. There are many women who are capable to negotiate higher salary. And yes, when you're earning more you have the responsibility of the whole house on you. Your job matters more because you're the one who's paying for your child's school fees, those home loans as well as contributing a major part of savings. You want equality? Then learn to earn equally too. Don't expect someone who is stressed after coming from office to cook you food. There are husbands who would cook for their wives during weekends but that's the limit. He's earning a lot so hire a maid if you're having problems with household chores instead of stressing him even more. On one hand you talk about love and on another hand you want a stressed guy to work after coming home? Do you think he'll be.able to be productive in office after doing household chores? I mean if he quits his high paying job because of this stressful life, will his wife take up the mantle and provide him and her child with the same luxuries he was able to provide? No, that doesn't happen at all. If he quits his job then worry about how you'll pay for home loans, kid's tuition fees, other miscellaneous expenses. If you're earning 1-2 lakhs and he's earning 10 lakhs then the majority of load will come on you because even if you quit your job, the family finances won't be affected by a big margin. If he quits the job and joins 3-4lakhs job then what will you do? You'll have to cut back on the expenses and struggle. No outside food, no vacations, overtime work to earn more, working on Saturdays, not providing enough attention to child, no savings, health complications. Karegi struggle? Pyaar ko beech mein mat la. Pyaar se pet nahi bharta. Also, remember one thing. Marriage isn't about individuality. People make sacrifices so that the marriage can be a smooth ride. I don't mind choosing a low paying job if my wife can outearn me and provide us with better standards of living. She cannot in real life so I have to pull up my sleeves.

It's funny how you tell me that I cannot comprehend whatever you are trying to tell whereas I have already countered the points put forward by you. Also, I didn't use Hinglish. My main point is if a person earns 2x or 3x than you then he's working a stressful job. If he shares the household work then he'll get more stressed. Either he'll break down or he'll choose a lower paying job. That'll affect the earnings of the household. Will most women be fine with their husbands choosing a low paying job? Ofcourse not. If you don't have the capability to earn more and keep blaming on others for your failures then you're an embarrassment for yourself and for your parents who actually spent money on you. Work hard, hustle and try to earn more. Put your foot down in office and negotiate a better salary. Try to provide more money for savings and other stuff so that your husband will have less stress and then he'll help you in household chores.

This is actually deeper than this. This kind of division of work is not just because of the public perception but because of the societal conditions. In a country where only 27 percent women are working, the division is clear, one has to earn outside and another has to work inside. The Problem is that who is working outside gets to have the upperhand so unless women start working in greater numbers the balance will always be tilted towards the one who is earning. Specially in a society where money is considered the most important thing. The same is situation with men who are often seen as the best dad being able to buy fancy houses and cars and successful only if they are earning well. Success and respect is all about money. This division is also because of the lack of safety. There is a subtle division in work even between son and daughter. Since going outside is not considered safe for women, outside work becomes the responsibility of men so automatically inside work becomes the responsibility of women. Will we not talk how men are responsible for everything that has to be done outside and if they don't, they are considered weak. The work will be balanced only when More women start working Things other than money are also counted in Both respect each other for what they bring to the table Both are willing to share both inside and outside work No one judges each other for not being perfect, there is always room for mistakes World becomes safer for women.

Well the salary of those men run their houses, not the wives. In majority of cases, men outearn women. As they are getting paid more, they are stressed enough from their jobs. Do you want them to come home and be stressed even more? Would you be fine if your husband(who earns more than you) is unproductive at work and he's shown the door for that? Here's a thing, if someone is working hard and their earnings run the house then they should be provided less household chores. If your salary is less then it doesn't matter if you keep working or not but if the higher earner quits then how will you pay for home loans, car emi, children's school fees? Think about it.

Why is this a problem. It just displays , what women are capable to or supposed to do in India or anywhere else in the world. Women doing man's job(which is very rare) often turn out to be incompetent at their jobs and end up quitting it typically after their first child. Although I do support that women should be allowed to choose what they want to do (its a free country lol), I just think that women are not mentally strong to do outdoor jobs which a man does. The prime examples are the western countries where 40% of women are on antidepressants which is quite sad.
