You need to do it with a latch hook. Hard work but looks great. I made some for my grand kids 😊

@@scholas_creative_space I just used a courser feeling craft yarn and cut into 5cm pieces. Looks amazing if you use an electric beard trimmer to neaten it up when you are finished. 😍

Latch hook is for a pile type rug. This example is traditional rug hooking and a crochet hook can suffice. My last rug was a locker hook style and as name suggests the loop gets locked by running yarn thru the loops all in one movement. No cutting or pile of yarn.

чтобы зарабатывать на таких ковриках, надо покупать специальную машинку, которая загоняет петли в основу. Такой коврик можно сделать примерно за час-полтора. Мастера и быстрее могут.

Ага я тоже так подумала. У нас моток таких ниток ОДИН стоит 10 евро. А на такой коврик уйдет их несколько. Я купила себе два коврика в ванную однотонных но тоже в таком стиле по 5 евро за один.

My mom bought those rubber non slip mats and cuts them in squares or rectangles and put one each between her ceramic serving dishes and glass lids and ceramic plates so they won’t crack and not make a lot of noise when stacking them. Laying ceramic on ceramic, can be too loud on the ears. She has been doing that many years before social media has been around with hacks for the kitchen.

Most rugs have the open end yarn on the top. But most also do glue the back. I won’t lie though this won’t be as sturdy as a rug mesh would be as this stuff starts to fall apart after awhile. But for a baby’s room or something that won’t be long term this is a cute idea.

​@@angelsandfaesit won't fall apart if it's done with an expert. Used to love doing this when I was growing up. The deference is that you can use any type of clothing material and a maize meal plastic. Some people made a living with that. It's more or the same like handknit ting a jerseys and selfish it.

Basically you're using it just for the fact it is a cheeper way of getting the sturdy mesh with holes than buying the proper stuff that's actually made for making these kinds of rugs (what's done here is similar to latch hook rugs or rag rugs that have been a hobby at least since my grandparents generation, and I'm in my 40's myself) If you want to still have an anti slip backing then you would have to cut a second piece of the fabric and sew it onto the bottom after you've finished putting all the wool in. This can make it more durable too because then the wool is less likely to be accidentally pulled back through, unraveling the stitches.

Well, it didn’t take her forever! Lol.. It may be edited to look like she did this in one day, but definitely not forever. There’s Latch Hook yarn kits with different color yarn that’s about 3” long each. It’s a fun project and you can take as long as you want, even if it’s forever. Lol 😉
