No tig welder? No problem. Harbor freight alum. brazing rod and map gas. I'm sure you know that by now? But maybe not? Anyway, it's good to see you're using your head for something other than a hat rack. LOL! To be a master craftsman? One must first be? Crafty.

I think you did a great job with the layout and cutting. Was sure eager to see you weld it all together with that alumiweld stuff. You know, everyone's a critic, and my two cents worth is that if you rebuild it, next time use pvc parts you can remove somehow to be able to drill or adjust the holes for the fluid bed. I've attempted the same and found that you need to test the system to get the agitation right. Great job, it looks nice with that diamond plate.

I totally agree! I'm currently working on a new project but I will revisit the "agitation box" (idk the proper name). Thanks for watching!

great job. you can go to a sheetmetal shop and they will make the bends most likely cheap it only take a few minutes with a big break even the 14 ga, alu.

@@lankywhiteguy I have an 18 inch fluid bed sluice and love it. The only problem is since it is so small, you have to classify and then only feed small amounts of material in it...... not a shovel full of material.
@lankywhiteguy6 жыл бұрын
It's important to get your water speed correct too, too slow and material builds up, too fast and it all blows out. Once you get it tuned in you shouldn't need to classify at all just feed one shovel slowly half at a time. Then clear any big rocks (I have yet to master this technique, lol)

I wonder how well jb weld would hold up? I lack a welder or welder skills.
@lankywhiteguy5 жыл бұрын
I thought about jb weld since I use it all the time but this stuff said it was for use in water so I went with it. Jb weld should work to hold it but idk about how long it could go underwater. Thanks for watching!
@jeffreymarshall67614 жыл бұрын
My friend bought a welder at home depot, that migs, and tig welds, you have to buy the gas. Its like 300 bucks. Im going to see how it works before i buy one.. if that epoxy works, go with it, its all about saving some bucks anyway.
@lankywhiteguy4 жыл бұрын
Exactly, I know I could fab out of steel/iron and make cool stuff but the weight is impractical. I have a mig now but it was on clearance. Maybe the tig will go down soon so I can afford it 🤣😂

So that's what these 'fluid bed sluices' are. They're just boiler boxes. Thanks, always wondered why people were putting so much faith in JUST that when it clearly lost heaps of gold. Boiler boxes are the first stage in some wash plants, they're definitely not capable of catching all the gold run through them - so I was right in thinking people are monged for using them and they looked like a kids toy. It'll be a good first stage to a sluice but you definitely need about ten foot or more of matting after it to catch all the gold you're putting through.
@lankywhiteguy4 жыл бұрын
I think these would be best in a region known for chunky gold and nuggets. They can be fed really fast. Thanks for watching!

I own a 31 foot travel trailers and before I owned it someone used liquid nails on the roof to seal the sky light above the shower. it cannot have water sitting on it as it will turn into a gooey mess. I was beyond pissed when I saw it. It kept the water out long enough I would not notice until the roof was ruined. Now I have to rebuild the entire back end of a $10,000 2006 palomino thoroughbred 31' trailer with a super slider. Not to mention I have to scrape about 3/4" of goo off the roof. That stuff is awful and really should not be sold to anyone unless you are building a house and can prove it. If it has wheels liquid nails does not belong on it.....ever.
