That's not just the Japanese. Americans are also shocked to learn there's running water in Argentina and educated people in Mexico.

latin culture is rare in anime but when there are latin influences i feel so proud . Bleach , chad was mexican and there is so much influence with the hollows and their names. also megalobox season 2 i loved the songs in spanish.

No it’s because they think Latins only work in farms or some job that makes less than 10 per hour when that doesn’t apply to everyone They’re human just like any other rich successful person is and have the ability to become whatever they want. The only difference is their race.

He made a point. Japanese people, without any bad intention behind, don't know Latinamerica is developed. Maybe we are too far away from each other and you only get bad thing from us, but I can assure you we are lovely people and we love Japan as well ❤️ (and Chile is a nice country too 🇨🇱)

I will admit there are some poor areas, and rich areas. But even with those areas there are still lots of nice and kind people who put in the effort in what they do. As a Mexican born in America, I have visited Mexico multiple times and seen everything that has happened.

It’s the same for Filipinos. I am staying with my aunt who is a permanent resident and an acquaintance asked if my auntie is married to a japanese man or a hostess 🥲 He was weirdly surprised she’s an engineer, and not married to a Japanese either. I’ve also met some people who immediately assume I’m a hostess, factory worker, or a housekeeper once they learn my nationality.

When I was growing up many Americans had very old textbooks and believed Japanese was still a quiet rural country. I think that many people unless they make an effort to learn about another country often have a slanted or out-of-date image of a country.
