You and me both. As a teenager the Internet in the early nineties (such a great time that was- Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots) was still in its infancy. But I did a fair bit of research and none of this made sense. Bearing in mind it was a very tenuous belief even then. They were teaching that some of the anointed would see the fulfillment of The end of the system as it is, and most of the 'remnant ' were well into there 90's in 1992 . Partakers were about 8000 ish worldwide and remained constant for years . I remember we had 2 who took the emblems in our Congregation and they were generally believed to be mistaken because they didn't fit the criteria 😅 . I look back now and think what an utterly confused mess it all was and completely reliant on some very tenuous biblical conclusions. All the Witnesses have are theories and proferred explanations of Bible passages. Faith is a confidence in something or someone based on past performance. For example, you might have faith in a contractor based on photos and work he's done or by past endorsement. With this its faith in an organisation that has nothing scripturally specific to back up its claims. At least the Catholic Church can claim a tenuous tradition of lineage to the Apostolic line, even if its worship has no relationship to early Christians. Although we have some fairly convincing evidence that the writings haven't been altered much due to 4th century copies, the Bible as it is was compiled by men. We have other religious writers who were discarded as apocryphal . Even some of the Gospel of John is considered inauthentic by some. The Witnesses consider the Bible as infallible, I don't think many people in the Vatican have that kind of conviction. Books like Isaiah are clearly written by a number of authors

The marriage takes place in heaven, if the anointed are on earth still they would miss out on being at the marriage, if any are here on earth they will be taken to heaven at the appropriate time. Each will render an account to God and if a person says there anointed its between that person and God, they do not say they think there anointed, God does the choosing, it would be safe to say they would be similar to how Jesus chose his disciples, they'd have a record of service and many years being faithful to God.The calling of the heavenly class there is no set end day, as some maybe called to replace ones who did not remain faithful.

When they die off, what’s going to happen to the organization? If they find a way to get new, younger members on the GB, that will be my cue to get out of here. This system could go on for another 100 years.” Six years later, they came out with that during a Watchtower study. I looked right at that elder during the meeting, like “what did I tell you?”

Thank you Wally, for this video. This was my awakening moment. I googled everything. We're taught that 607 BCE was the starting point, the fall of Jerusalem (the first time, obviously not the last). I googled just about that, when did Jerusalem fall. The facts showed that 607BCE was wrong. Just with that, my eyes were opened, finally, opened. Everyone who were born on 1914, are all dead. Every active JW still believe the year 1914 was when the heavenly kingdom is finally cleansed and installed. This is such a lie. The year itself is made up. This is one of the central feature of the JW doctrine, one of the main central pillars of JW teaching. I can't believe that for a long time, since I was a child, that I believed this. The 144,000 anointed, also referred to the Faithful Slave Class, including those in the GB, made me fearful of them. Their words were like king. What they say, must go. But now, just knowing that 1914 is just a made up number, this pillar of teaching is fake, so the whole building collapsed for me. If there's an active JW out there reading this, trust your senses, use your own logic and common sense. Question everything to find out if you're being lied to. When you read the WT or the Awake mags, Google even just quotes from secular sources or, just reach out to these professionals who supposedly quoted them, and ask them whether what they quoted in the WT are true. And be ready to accept their answer. If there's no answer, that's telling. That's because.... (do they actually exist?) If the WT gives sources that have blanked answers, are their sources genuine? If not genuine, what can you say about the WT then? I hope you and everyone reading this still have a blessed day.

I asked him, with total sincerity and innocence, “If Revelation is written in signs, why isn’t the 144,000 symbolic? He was a nice guy, but he got really annoyed and snippy with me. He asked, “Well what would it be symbolic OF? He seemed really ticked off. Later, I found out that that was one of the issues some of the apostates were raising a few years earlier during the big Bethel apostate purge. 😂😂

Ellen made her own church SDA and Charles made JW'S. They both believed that they were living in the last days. Lets just say SDA believe in Saturday Sabbath and no unclean food pork shell fish, cant work sundown of Friday till Saturday sun set. I grew up believing that if i dont turn off the tv by sunset on Friday night god would be mad at me and if I had to work on Saturday it was a sin. Thankfully I left in 7th grade a refused to attend another church meeting.

My father loves the Jehovah Witnesses more than any other. He reaps where he does not sow and and sows where he does not reap. He loves the Rastafarians down in Jamacia. He judges people by the spirit in their children. He judges churches by the spirit in their congregation. It's as real as real gets. He has urged me to ask the Jehovah Witnesses to give their children the gift of Christmas---heat miser and freeze miser. All of it. Every child deserves to have their dreams come true once a year. That's a direct order from my father.

My mother has claimed to be anointed since about 10 years ago, in her mid 40s. I remember how strange I found it that she kept it a secret and was embarrassed about it when she would partake during the memorial. I couldn't understand why that would be something to shame someone for, but people would doubt her and the only other woman in the congregation who also claimed to be anointed who was an old eccentric lady. My mother then went on to claim to me that she was shown visions of the future from Jehovah. She was also very controlling and abusive and eccentric. I would sincerely ask her sometimes why Jehovah would choose someone like her and she would cry and play victim saying "I don't know". Very strange.
