Split shot about 18 inches up the line makes a world of difference in getting it where you want and the depth you want

I have used this lure for a good while now at least i have used the fly weight version .I love it , I have caught many different species it slays all panfish, good for trout , pretty good for bass especially in streams . My best catch so far was a channel cat , I am 6 foot tall when i lay the catfish against my side he reached from just above my belt. His tail curled slightly against the ground . The fly was a size 12 i was using a 3 weight rod with a 4 lb test tippet .It was one of best events of 62 years fy fishing .

With respect, you need to set the hook. You will lose way less fish in my opinion. You don't need to set it like you are fishing powerbait, but a slight 25 degree turn to help set that hook will make you see a marked improvement in fish lost. Just subscribed today. Glad to be here. God bless from the great state of Maine.

Thanks for the tip I always worry about ripping their mouth apart but I agree that 25 degree turn sounds like it would make a difference. Thanks for watching and subscribing!!!

I've been trout fishing below Buford Dam a lot lately. Where did you enter the water in this video?

I was at lower pool west. At the first parking lot you get to , there's a trail that runs alongside the river it goes pretty far but I got in by the creek that passes the trail .

Switch up. Medium rod 12lb test. Less loss of the bait. You are welcome 🤗 only way to fish a 1-4 oz joe👍🏽
