TOP WATER BITE WAS HOT...BUT...

G'day legends!! Thanks for coming back for another episode!!
This one is a bit of a messy one, I had a plan, within 5min I saw that it would have worked...but luck wasn't with me this day...I used several different lures, I had PLENTY of action but...many fish landed??

Another great vid for topwater addicts . 👍! One of those days, the more ya fish the frequency higher. Keeps the tackle industry going . Even high end pe has a life span, be interesting to see if you experience more failures. Also recoils can get a grove in them past the load point on well used rods that lead to fatigue.

Thanks mate. It was a rookie mistake not tying a new leader on…2 sessions is ok but 3 is pushing it, and that was the third sesh on that leader…the second line fail I think it was a wind knot that I undid earlier and probably had weakened the line at that point…I have used this reel with some Black Widow edges with recoils but this particular rod did not have recoils as it is a First Strike. Hopefully no more fails, with the few meters I removed, the line I’m using now should be pretty fresh…Will see next session tho 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Awesome session again mate ... shame ya lost the anthrax mate but lucky ya got the mouse back. Haven't had much to do with the gosen braid but I use spiderwire and sfx 10pound in the yellow and both are a 4 strand but I've put mine through some punishment and very rarely have snaps, more luck than anything I guess. Keep up the good work mate.

Thanks mate, yeah people say 4 strands are better for snag bashing…this 16 strand hasn’t failed me in 2 full seasons so even with these couple of issues I can’t really complain about it…will see how it continues performing. Cheers bud 👍🏽

another awesome vid mate 👌 👍 gotta love that top water bite ❤ i recently purchased a new top water lure called "dragonfly". it is 80mm 6.5g and has a detailed picture of a big dragonfly on the top that is deadly. i had a awesome morning at my local dam here on the goldy a couple weeks ago and it produced a 47cm tip bass on the western side of the dam plus countless fish short striking. it is a similar style lure to the d-styles. thnx for your efforts 👌

Great little session again mate, well done. Do you usually cut of a few meters of braid when you change leaders?

Thanks mate, yes I usually remove around 1-2m of braid every time I tie a new leader on…that’s why I put ~75m of line on my reels instead of 30m like the BFS purists…my 75 become 50-60 pretty quickly if I use that reel a lot. Yup, first time in 2 years running super tight drags so I can’t really complain…yesterday I managed a few more solid fish without issues so the first time most probably the leader knot that was there too long and the second time I believe it was the wind knot I had removed which must’ve weakened the line…very unlucky to have both happen the same day…
