I see what Milky was saying, she is definitely open to and endorses a wide range of opinions, therefore it is not going to be an echo chamber. However, a few topics will foster hatred from both sides and could cause lots of trauma to everyone who sees it. It's not about endorsing something, not everyone will use their voice/platform in a humane way no matter how hard Jubilee works to present the content objectively. It just really depends on the topic.

That's why I personally like this channel/company. Even though I'm sure I disagree with most of their staff on many topics, I know they are open to having the discussions which is very much needed these days. Too many people now are so aggressively against anything that doesn't go along with what they already believe, which I think is harmful to both sides and breeds extremism. I believe the goal should always be to try to understand others and find a compromise, because there is never going to be a solution that fits everyone perfectly.

my one and only criticism of jubilee is how unrepresentative some of the people are of their communities. they're very much an la version of what the community is overall. for example, the spectrum video about evangelicals did not in any way reflect what evangelicals believe in my experience living in the south, which i think made the video fall flat. i hoped for discussion of the rapture and other distinctly evangelical beliefs but there wasn't much of that.

@@Sader2 Zoom sucks and flying people in, assuming enough would even be willing to do that, would be extremely expensive. The only way they'd ever actually achieve a middle ground like that, is moving to one. I'll be the first to say *STAY IN CALIFORNIA.* There's a reason most of the country doesn't like them but if they wanted to solve that problem, they'd need to move somewhere else that's within an hour or two drive to solid red and blue areas. There's plenty of places they could pick but none of them are on the west coast or in the northeast.

Hi, this is actually extremely common within the creative industries, not just Jubilee. Most employees in the Creative Industries tend to be younger and are more willing to work unconventional hours and receive less pay in exchange for the cultural value of their work. I just want to say that although the general consensus in the comments seems to be looking for jubilee to bring on more types of people and opinions, when they have done so in the past there was also a lot of negativity and hate in the comments. Because the audience & their viewers collectively also have prominent biases! Which wasn’t really discussed in the video but I feel should be a bigger topic of conversation for a channel like this that wants to challenge and inform on various ideas. And this directed negativity would make it difficult for them to bring some people on. I truly LOVE this channel! However, after seeing the employee/staff photo, it makes sense why a lot of Jubilee's dating/ranking videos go the way they do for darker skinned women of color. Not saying they need more diversity, or Black staff bc its their company/channel, and I still believe they foster many important, respectful discussions. ❤It just makes A LOT more sense now for the dating/ranking segments.

"no topic should be off limits" I'm shocked to see half of them on the disagree side, isn't the whole point of this channel that very thing? I'm 100% for showing every single topic or opinion out there because if it's a bad opinion it should be extremely easy to destroy it. When I see people going around saying "we need to ban this or these people" I know they do it because they're insecure in their own beliefs and know (most likely through previous experience) that they get beaten during debates or discussion.

I enjoy watching Jubilee videos, but I just cringed when the employees said they need a raise for working on weekends or after hours. I am a teacher. I regularly grade on weekends and after hours. It is part of my job, and I appreciate that it is not expected in many work environments. I need a raise!

Teachers definitely deserve a pay rise. However, as someone who works in the Creative Industries, its well noted that individuals in the field are paid far less and have very unconventional hours compared to what they're paid. It's also a much more unstable field but a lot of people do it for the cultural value of their work. Both fields deserve a pay rise.

In 50 years things are just gonna be a lot different ...jubilee might exist but not like how it is today ...it would evolve to what it needs to be or even other factors could out grow it ...but over all they have done a decent job for the last ten years ... And the efforts put by these people for a sacrificial pay... (Well I would just remind my folks once again there a lot of other jobs which take a lot of effort and burden and pay nothing at all too ...like for what I've spent years on education and the effort and environmental torture i go through to meet my daily meal..) so let's hope our race finds ways to make the world a lot more economically livable for us and enjoy our jobs simultaneously
