I was listening to the radio on the way home tonight - not sure which station - and heard this incredible music (this piece). They did a brief interview an interview but never said the name of the band, next piece played was "Fredericia". A little investigation brought me here. On one hand I'm glad just surfing the radio helped me to discover this group, but why the hell do so many fascinating musical groups / musicians exist and the only way to discover them is by a random accident??? I'm so sick of listening to the same crap playing on the local "Classic Rock" station that I've heard for 40 + years!!!!!

Got to chat with Charles for about 10-15 minutes before their Montreal show back in 2009 I think it was... didn't even know it was him at first (I had never seen his photo). Once I realized who I was talking to I mentioned this was one of my favorite tracks specifically because of that challenging bass line... asked if they could play it that night... he said he could try.... BAMM, second encore!!! the disco ball and water leaking on the stage from the roof of Olympia theater made the show memorable to say the least.

Hey, I was at this show and saw all the video peeps running around. Was wondering where this would surface... Very cool that you can get a DVD of the whole show from the site in the watermark on the video. Price is very fair, too (no, I have no affiliation with them; just a big DMST fan).

That's a very simple and elegant point. Maybe it's because I've heard this song a few dozen times (live and studio versions), but her playing makes it hard to hear the rest of the band doing their magic. But in her defense, I bet the levels were much better live and perhaps I just prefer brass and woodwinds to strings when it comes to Do Make Say Think.

@Rarmander17 жыл бұрын
I disagree. I love Explosions in the Sky, but Do Make Say Think totally tops them. "It's Gonna Rain" is the most amazing song; it captures the essence of rain completely. "First Breath After Coma" is good, but I think "A Tender History In Rust" totally tops it. As I said before, though, both of these bands are amazing.
@alphatyrone12 жыл бұрын
Julie Penner, right? 80% of what she does certainly adds to the surge of the song, but the other 20 sound a bit too new wavy to me. What works: 4:44-6:22, 1:50-2:42, 6:40-7:20 (plucking) What doesn't: 4:10-4:20, 7:30-8:04
