Imo the second most important player behind Kawhi last year.
@t4d0W4 жыл бұрын
He was def a trade for playoff match ups. JoVal is nice but Marc opened up options for spacing with the 4 other guys along with his passing. Marc also made Vuc a nonfactor in the Magic series (but regardless the Magic were a nonfactor anyway), held his own against Embiid (which the Sixers leaned on JImmy Buckets harder) and of course battled under the post against Brook Lopez. Plus you knew Marc was going all out knowing this could be his last shot making the playoffs with a squad that can go deep possibly into the Finals. When teams know they are guaranteed to go deep to the playoffs, being able to win lineup matchups is what decides if the team can go as far as the Conference Finals or even in the NBA Finals.

I won't say he saved the Raps (The Raps had no business in the Finals without Kawhi to begin with) but he improved those playoff match ups tremendously. I don't think Nurse would have as much confidence against the Sixers matchup if he still had JoVal against Embiid. And if Embiid could have his way in the middle while Jimmy Butler doing his damage, that series definitely changes dramatically.

8:03 when you trade the whole team for Melo even though he was going to sign in NY anyway
@rickygill6614 жыл бұрын
It was cuz melo was being a drama queen and just wanted the NY spotlight so bad. If he really wanted to win then he would have not let his future team trade away a bunch of pieces. I will say though, melo has changed for the better now and has revived his career.
@roboninja31944 жыл бұрын
Melo is now and always has been selfish. Whined his way out of Denver, screwed over the Knicks by forcing a trade instead of signing in the off season knowing the team would be better. Passed up going to Chicago to team up with Rose/Noah and the rest of that strong Bulls team. Whined and pouted in OKC/Houston because he couldn't accept coming off the bench even tho he was on strong teams and he could have anchored the 2nd unit on both. Every opportunity he had to win he made things about himself. Plays 0 defense. Plus he's been a walking black hole for most of his career. Pass em the ball and ya never see it again. He chose $ and ego over winning. And he will retire with 0 rings because of it.
