Wish I could give 20 thumbs up! I have been waiting for this. The conversation with the barber at the beginning truly is critical. You are wise with your beauty supply shopping strategy! Less truly is more. The styling tools, products, and PATIENCE are the ingredients for any successful natural hair experience. My SLAP cap is for when I am impatient (cuz that is ALWAYS the ingredient I skimp on.)

I can answer this question you have to put a red over the blonde to achieve a dark color i would use a dark brown over that afterwards but you should go to a professional hair stylist to have it done you can apply a red rinse and then after that you can put a dark brown or if you want to go black you can do that but if you put a dark color or rinse over blonde it will turn green

I am noticing that you are trying different brands of gel. Have you not found one that you really like; or do you think all gels are equal? If most gels are equal, I will purchase the one that is less expensive. If you have an inexpensive favorite, I would appreciate the brand name.
