Wash and Go | Defined Shiny Curls for Short Type 4 Natural Hair

This tutorial honestly changed my life. I grew up with a single, white mom who had no idea how to do black hair. I hated oils, mousse didn't do anything and gel was always crunchy and created a ton of shrinkage. She always used the Pink styling creme, which I also hated. She really tried but needless to say, I dumped traditional hair products and stuck to moisturizers and conditioners growing up. I have never been able to get definition. Thank you for making this video. Until this video I, like many others, have spent lots of money on hair products and time watching other videos. Thank you!!!

I just cut off my waist length locs and I'm starting my natural journey! You have the EXACT same type of hair I seem to have, combo of 4a-b in the front with some 4c mainly in the back, and high porosity! Even down to how your edges lay (I've been trying to figure out how to lay them properly around my widows peak and the way you did it--I'm definitely following suit!). Thanks fo making this video!

the point is to get your hair to resemble what it looks like when wet in the shower (shiny, moisturized, defined curls), and make it seem like you hopped out of the shower and left. wash n go is just another styling technique like twist out, braid outs, etc

The onlyyyy cream I've ever used that will clump my curls is Creme Of Nature Pudding Perfection Curl Enhancing Creme. I think it's a hybrid of cream and gel. It's my hidden gem!

Pretty...now how often do you do wash in goes? Is it healthy to do wash in goes all the time for your hair? How do you untangle the hair you finger combed in your hair do you have to comb them out or just wash your hair and finger combs go away?

👑PRINCESSFRMALMIGHTY 👑 I don’t do wash n goes very often, I’ll probably go through a period where I just prefer a wash n go, b majority of the time for this cut , I do twist out and coils. To detangle finger coils i always do in the shower with conditioner and water running through my hair, I go through with my fingers first to catch any serious tangles and then go back through with a shower comb

This is lovely, but how do you preserve this look?! I’ve attempted a wash and go and after day one it’s a NO!!! I have short hair tapered style. I’d say slightly longer than yours.

Nana G I guess it would depend on what type of hold your gel has when it comes to how long the style will last. My gel has a pretty strong hold but is soften it with the oil spray and curl refreshing spray usually every morning, style last a good week. I wear a satin cap at night. ❤️

3yrs ago but this still looks like a good method. I’ve tried finger coils, not for me, but I like her clumping of curls. I don’t mind the hard hold on day one it’s usually gone by day2 without use an oil and I have shine.
