I Don't think the temps are that bad, i was getting these temps on my 2070 Super FE and it was fine. If you want to reduce temps you could reduce the Power Limit to reduce power

If you have a cooling-optimized case such as the NCase-M1 or the FormD-T1, then running the 3070 in an ITX case should be no trouble.

since heatwise everything is 100% efficient :-) i was wondering if just putting in enough lightbulbs of the worst case watt usage in a case with the planned fans would show how hot the inside would get. i think i had a halogen lamp once that was 300 watts and that was scary hot [well, technically if there is a clear panel, the visible portion of the energy would escape into the room without becoming heat inside the case, so the case should be opaque..but i think for incandescents, it's like 95% from the start anyway]

I have this same exact setup, ran 3dmark and got literally the lowest score for my cpu/gpu. Undervolted my 3070 and now I'm pretty close to the middle. Non-FE is still probably better, but I can live with the difference

The problem is that the case doesnt have outtake fans, I have modded the case by mounting 2x140mm fans on the backside on the outside panel (its the back anyway). Got the 3080FE running at 73c under load which is similar to that of an average ATX case. If I set a custom fancurve which is a tad more aggressive, it doesnt even go over 70c.

Change the PCIe settings in your BIOS to Gen3. If it's set to Auto or Gen4, the default H1 riser cables will not be compatible.

He chose the worst case he can build an itx on. FE work perfectly on ncase and formd t1. My 3080 never exceed 75 all stock and aircooled ncase m1. With undervolt the temp never hit 70.

The NZXT H1 is actually very thermally limited compared to something like the NR200

Add a couple 40mm Noctua fans to the back of the case to help the exhausting of hot air. You don't need to run them fast even to get the heat out :) There's plenty of guides on Reddit.

I know it’s about 4 inches deep and about 9 inches long but nothing related to height and clearance is a concern for me because in my case the PSU would be right under the card (I have a Mini ATX) and so I don’t know just how much space it will need

As the ASUS RTX 3080 TUF is 51.70mm thick and has a 320w TBP i assume the RX 6800 XT with it's 49.75mm and 300w TBP should do a great job in the NZXT H1? I'm going to get one :) just waiting for pre order start :)

@@kennguyen7477 2 120mm fans in the back of the case for exhaust, removed the Sata tray, drilled holes in that panel where the top fan is pressed against on the 3080. Then put a 80mm fan in between the PSU and the 3080. I might cut out the area where i drilled holes in eventually for better cooling but it works fine as is rn.

@@KyleRomell i have it supporting the blower fan currently. Pulling air away from the heat sink so it’s not pushed back in bc that was still a problem even with the penny sized holes i drilled. So yes it’s sandwiched in there but there’s still space for air to escape and pulled out the back so the hot air isn’t trapped in side the case!

I just got the 3070 FE installed in my H1 and while it was getting up to 78-79 degrees. I gave it a custom fan curve and brought the Temps down to 75c. Not that bad, I'd say.

@@DrCid123 temp limit is normally 83 it says on MSI afterburner, I've had a laptop that would normally do 80c all the time. But that's a whole different deal, my old 2070 super would operate just fine at 75-76c but now I installed a triple 50mm fan mod on my H1 and now it stays even cooler with Temps from 56c to like 68c. Great mod for 40 bucks 👍video is on KZbin if you are curious.

You definitely want it to be as cool as can be, like I said I play for hours with my H1 and it never goes past 70c (custom fan curve and triple fan mod). I also play 1440p and I get FPS ranging from 90-120 under heavy load playing Destiny 2 and Cold War.

When my GPU reaches 80 celsius, I lock the FPS of the game in nvidia control panel. Usually around 10 FPS lower than its average, but hey, it's not noticeable, and lowers the temp. I live in the Philippines so without air conditioning, ambient temp sucks balls here. I don't want to ramp up my electricity bill just to play lmao
