Went thru the same thing twice. First one (Airtex) died after 2 weeks and the fuel temp sensor was faulty the whole time. 2nd (Different brand) died a few weeks ago and left my wife stranded just after a couple of months of use. OEM lasted 160,000 miles, didn't bother with the 2nd warranty replacement. I bought the OEM Denso one made in Japan, removed the crappy one from the housing and put the OEM one in there. Worked the first time and still running. Thank God mine is under the 2nd row seat (no need to drop the tank).

I bought a OEM denso fuel pump. Lasted 3 weeks. Under warranty. Bought a 2nd denso OEM fuel pump and after 14 months, and about 12,000 miles, now it is going bad. Wth? Then they only give a 1 year warranty. That's another thumbs down. So... I'm getting a aftermarket trugrade one from AutoZone with a lifetime warranty. If it goes bad, I'll get another for free. Just hope it doesn't leave me stranded. I guess OEM isn't cracked up to be what it should.

Probably made in china! Here in Australia toyota wanted $500.00 for a oem toyota camry 3.0 v6 pump assembly which i said like hell,i got a aisin pump for $220.00 which is the company in japan that makes aftermarket parts directly for toyota. 3 year warranty and less than half the cost of the oem pump. I had a problem years ago with a 1987 Toyota Celica hydraulic clutch master cylinder. The original failed, So i had the bright idea to get the Autozone aftermarket replacement. It was only 30 or 40 bucks. This thing was a mother***ker to get to the one bolt, There was 2 bolts holding it on, One was inside engine compartment the other down inside above where your feet are way above the pedals. Had to remove the seat and lay in there and cuss up a huge storm of foul language to get it out. Had to bend a wrench to get victory. 6 months later it went out again. I told the ol lady i"ll be a mother***ker if i'm putting in the same aftermarket in even if it's got a lifetime warranty. Put my big boy pants on and went to Toyota dealership and got dealer part which was 150.00. Put it in and never had a problem again. Lessons in life suck.

Delphi was once a part of General Motors, specifically it was the old Dayton Electric Company, better know as Delco. It should have been comparable to OEM Ford in quality.

Add "never add HP in a can" to your fuel tank! Float and insulation degrading from ethanol and/or fuel additives. Not making an excuse for the failure, but that is a textbook symptom of incompatible material when subjected to additives.
@vegasfordguy4 ай бұрын
It comes directly from the fuel pumps, it's ethanol fuel. All fuels have 10 percent ethanol added nowadays. I don't use any additives in my fuel.

@vegasfordguy Жыл бұрын
So far my second AutoZone Delphi pump is doing fine, however I know it's on borrowed time, especially how the insulation on the wiring was swollen on the first one. Delphi is still superior to Airtex, but at the end of the day an OEM fuel pump is always the best quality without a doubt. At first the OEM pump is usually very expensive and seems like it's too much money to spend, but after swapping out 2 or 3 aftermarket junk pumps it's not so expensive anymore!

I may need a fuel pump in my car, it sat for a while and has a fuel pressure drop now - it’s either something on the supply side or the injectors. Hopefully it’s not a pump, but it’s looking like it’s best to get a Delphi if I do need one. At least I HAVE the money, that’s a blessing. My tax return is great as well because it’ll pay for my tires.
@vegasfordguy2 жыл бұрын
If you do need a new electric fuel.pump I'd recommend a manufacturers OEM unit if available and not to pricy. The Delphi has been a good pump though. Good luck on diagnosing it. If it has a port on the fuel rail you could take a pressure reading. The gauges are pretty cheap. Does the gasoline still smell like gas or does it smell bad?

You're incorrect about that. Genuine Ford parts are superior to aftermarket and are stamped or have a genuine Ford logo. The same thing goes for the other manufacturers. Country of origin has nothing to do with the part being OEM or aftermarket.

@@WV591 Once again, it doesn't matter where the OEM part is manufactured. Doesn't matter if it's made in China as OEM parts are built to the manufacturers specific tolerances and quality control. Not everything from China is junk. Something built for a budget minded person selling on ebay will not be built to the same specs as a Napa part. Just like a OEM part will be better quality vs the Napa part.

I personally wouldn't use anything except OEM when it comes to an in tank fuel pump unless you don't mind doing the job again if it fails, you don't plan on keeping it very long, etc. An aftermarket pump could last forever, but they don't have a very good track record, especially the Airtex brand. They were so bad that AutoZone stopped carrying them.

Will you be ready when Jesus Christ returns? If not confess your sins and ask Jesus to come to you. Praise the Most High for his son acting as a sacrificial lamb, so that your sins can be forgiven (KJV Romans 5:6-11). Confess your sins to the Most High (KJV1 John 1:9) and Repent (KJV Acts 3:19) now while you have time before it's too late, Many people in this world will not see tomorrow(KJV Proverbs 27:1). To repent means you will not do any of the sins you've done in the past. You will be a renewed person. What is sin? Sin is a transgression of the laws of the Most High (KJV 1 John 3:4). Learning the Ten Commandments is a good start (KJV Exodus 20:1-17).
