To clarify: I’m not saying NEVER buy the game. I’m saying we should wait until they do add the single player before purchasing (especially the physical edition) to ensure we aren’t buying a game that could be bricked down the road from lack of online players. For a paid game, I expect to be able to play it again in 10, 20, 30+ years if I so choose. However, if this game does still excite you being online-only at launch and you feel you’ll get your $30 worth out of it, by all means have your fun, no judgement at all! I’m just meaning for those who ARE on the fence about the longevity of it, that we shouldn’t just buy it because it’s Crash, and we should wait until it feels more justified than that. But if that’s not you, I truly hope you enjoy the game and for the rest of us I hope it becomes something we will want to buy after a few updates. 😊

To justify the purchase they need to: - Add Local Multiplayer. Yes, it has online, but if the servers ever shutdown we should still be able to play it with friends. - Remove the Premium Battle Pass or make it ultra cheap. - Add a single player campaign, even if its just like Crash Bash.

Like I’ve been a die hard crash fan since the 90s and owned every title, even the bad ones. I’d buy just about anything…. But this? Is a step too far. This is just a waste. Even if it does take off and become popular, it still won’t last forever. Give me some security that if I wanna revisit this game in 15 years, I can and it will be playable.

Game's $30 or $40, but since it's a paid online game, you also need to pay for an online membership if you don't have one yet, which will cost you another $60 just for one year of service. So in actuality, this will be a $90-$100 game with very little content. The game should either be delayed until the single player mode is added or just be free-to-play at launch (no membership required).

Exactly what I’m saying! You could do monthly online service but that’s still what, $10? Making the game $40/$50. But then add another $10 for every additional month you want to play it… almost like there’s a service fee just to play the game And I know a lot of people already have online subscriptions for other games, but not all of us. The only games I play online are CTRNF and GTA V. So I pay for one month at a time when I want to play online, and cancel it when I’m done. Currently I haven’t played anything online in almost 6 months. So not only would I have to pay $30 for the game, but also reactive my online membership for at least a month, just to probably be bored with it after a week based on how repetitive the gameplay looks so far.

I don't think the comparison to Crash on the Run is a good one, considering we're comparing a mobile game to a literal paid console game. It was also confirmed that there will be an AI or practice mode where it is outside of actual Multiplayer. An actual story mode is highly unlikely, but an Offline Play mode is very possible to have and pretty easy to implement (this can be done by just taking the online requirement out of the practice/bot mode). We're also dealing with crossplay, so considering MP is the focus here, server-side these stuff should be significantly better than Nitro-Fueled, and easier to find matches accordingly. Nostalgia fueling Nitro-Fueled was one of the main things that got that game to the heights it did. It died off within the same year the Grand Prixes were finished off, just around Crash 4's launch. Being $30 with no Single Player should be theoretically fine. Obviously nobody is going to see this and justify $40 or even $60 for a MP-only game, meanwhile we got Nitro-Fueled that is both that and at $40. We are yet to know how the battle pass and monetization systems are in this game, but you and a lot of people are already throwing in the towel simply because of those ideas alone. For $30, I think this game deserves a bigger chance from people being abhorrently negative for these very points. It's one thing if it's not someone's cup of tea to begin with. It's another thing entirely when they dislike the game BECAUSE it doesn't involve Single Player, or that it's not another remake like Crash Bash or whatever. This is literally just a multiplayer take on the core platforming we know and love in the Single Player side. I don't think Activision is being stupid with this, as even people threw a hissyfit on CTR as well simply because it had the option to purchase the coins, while still being earnable. Also, if this was a F2P game, you best bet all kinds of practices would be directly implemented and infested within this game. But considering it's a paid game, with a potential battle pass that may allow you to earn the premium currency every time, I genuinely do not see how THAT would be bad. If it's encouraging you to play the game and earn that way, what is so bad about that model? I just do not think the title here, nor what some have been saying so far is ultimately correct or the "final nail" in the coffin for the series. The series before went on a hiatus not because of failed games. It was because it didn't have a dev team after Radical got shafted off while having dev issues about Crash Landed at the time, alongside Prototype 2's failure. This information is easily googled and is public information.

The reason why they compared it to OTR is probably because it was a live service crash game that had massive success on its launch, only to end up with its support and content updates stopped and then later closed down. Also the lack of single player content at launch is a huge omission as every other multiplayer crash game has had some form of it, even a game like boom bang did. There have also been plenty of live service games that have either seen support discontinued a massive drop in playerbase, or have even been de-listed, rendering them unplayable. Even games that use are based on, or use popular ips such as multiversus, dragon ball the breakers and mario strickers battle league are victim to one of these.

@@lemon5000-tj6nv Sure, but you gotta see how the gameplay loop is also built. Crash on the Run's entire gameplay loop involved heavy monetization on the player's progression and time. These are 2 very important elements that you don't EVER want to monetize, especially in a game's nature such as Crash Bandicoot's. Not only that, but the game also went on its own hiatus for about 14 months with a promise of coming back with a small overhaul, only to be cut off and announced as a shutdown and abandonment. That is a massive slap in the face to people that were waiting for over a year, directly from King. So far, the only seemingly good hands that have been doing well with the series are the Activision studios, and not Blizzard nor King. Additionally, yes a lot of people agree that the absence of a single player / story mode is not good in Rumble, but cutting off $10 as a compensation I think is enough to warrant that absence + being MP-focused, this would allow them to focus on having an actual good MP environment free of connection issues and bugs that were all present with Nitro-Fueled's, and even Crash on the Run's to a degree as well. I think the only way to circumvent this is to have Local Multiplayer that does not require an active connection to be present. I think that would benefit and please most people asking / begging for it, and would also allow for the game to be preserved and played endlessly after its lifecycle passes. NF's playerbase dropped over 6 months after the final update because that is very normal for a game to just stop its content releases altogether. For Rumble to have a Battle Pass despite being a paid game, I think that's also fine so long as the BP has the premium currency within it to be earned, which can cover the next BP in a recurring format. Only purchase from that is to get the initial BP, grind it for that premium currency and whatever cosmetics you may want, and essentially have enough for the next BP entirely for free. That alone would kinda put it on par with NF's price tag. Although unlikely, there is a very likely chance that there may also be a free side to the BP, since they directly mention in the press release that it's "premium".

Thank you so much. And yes it’s the price point and micro transactions that gets me. It looks like it could be fun, if it was free to play I’d give it a try on multiplayer. But that price point for an ONLINE game? Nope. The thing that REALLY grinds my gears, as well as ALL the things you've mentioned already Trevtendo, is WHY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, should we as consumers HAVE to preorder a game just to play a 4 day Beta to test it out? Solid video. I was interested in the game... I biy all mine digital, which I dislike, but save cash as I share the games with a friend, so we split costs... With that said, do we ever actually own these games? Not at all. Physical games that don't require internet, we own those. Digital is BS. Let's say I get banned by a system for some reason. They can take away my games that u payed for. Or if the interent fails for any reason whatsoever, they can dissappear. Digital games have ZERO value. My gaming collections I've held onto for decades all have value. Because anyone with electricity and a TV can plug them in and play. The same cannot be said about modern games. They want to make everything in our lives subscription based, including cars and other things we like to own. They don't want us to own homes, they want us all to rent. As the world economic forum says, "you will own nothing and be happy". Hmmm, sure, it could make things.... easier? On face value... But say goodbye to investing in yourself and building equity. It’s a f2p disguised as a p2p. Knockout city did that, and the game was fun and kept a small dedicated fan base but it wasn’t able to bring in more players and the games player base only shrunk until the plug was pulled They went f2p but did it a year too late and the time was past I see crash rumbl going the same way, but knockout city’s gameplay was more easy to understand off the back so crash rumble might just be doomed the second it’s launched. @@mimismomos people were so mad at me for making this video but I did give it a fair chance. When the free trials came out I played. Yeah, it was kinda fun, but super repetitive and didn’t hold my attention for more than a couple hours… they just didn’t put much time or thought into it. After watching Did You Know Gaming’s hour long video about Crash though, it makes sense why this is what we got… Activision is just to blame, really.

I definitely agree with you. This is the first time there is a crash game that I have absolutely barely any interest in. I can’t trust rumble with the way they left crash team racing nitro fueled. I love nitro fueled but I would prefer the original ctr cause it did not have as many problems as the nitro fueled. Game is still buggy to this day, inconsistent items, boring online modes. People were begging for a cup mode and a no items mode. Never got it. Many bugs with a things like the warp orbs which plagued the early online days on nitro feuled. Races not starting and getting kicked out of races. Nitro fueled still has a pretty good player base that loves and still plays the game. I’d come back to it but I can’t find myself playing long. Rumble literally looks like an add on to crash 4. It feels like one of those run of the mill team up fighting games. Does not look like something I’d want to spend money on, especially if it’s multiplayer only. Game will die out very fast

Damn. This video both did and didn't age well. The game never got a single player mode and didn't last a year. However, it lasted as long as Nitro-Fueled did, didn't have any compulsory micro-transactions and had a decently sized player base that meant finding a full lobby at any given time was not difficult. Overall it was extremely mixed, but everyone who played it seemed to have a good time with it and many more modes were introduced as time went on at no additional cost. Not as much as the developers clearly wanted to add, but when it was revealed that the team behind this game was a very, very small number of people on basically no budget, it becomes evidently clear that this was Activision's attempt at making a quick buck from die-hard Crash fans. The saving grace is that this is likely what made Toys for Bob cut ties with Activision. And now they're free to make what they wanna make without Activision trying to force their money-grubbing ideology onto it.

Just how do you think delaying your purchase of this game will cause a light to spark in the bean counters' heads at Activision? A sale is a sale, and when you buy it will most likely mean nothing to them other than statistics--specifically, units sold and profit made. Unless they make a big deal out of a single player mode *in an online multiplayer game* (see the problem here...?) and make some huge announcement about it followed by an obvious and huge sales spike, it will mean nothing. If anything, what you are encouraging will result in the game dying prematurely, because an online game obviously can't survive without players, and no company is going to want to support a game for long before pulling the plug if it can't even turn them a profit. I'm personally not a big fan of online multiplayer, but I thought this game looked more fun than many others so I decided to buy it. Hopefully it lasts, but if everyone followed your advice it would be dead in a week, with no offline mode update in sight. While I agree with your complaints, I think your temporary "boycott" wouldn't teach them anything, and if anything (and at worst) could send the wrong message.

I know the game isn’t out, but I don’t see how this game won’t last longer than a week. What’s the replay value here? So far it looks like it lacks depth and that they tried to add depth by throwing loads of mechanics at it. I know we haven’t seen much but from what I’ve seen I’d feel I would play for an afternoon and rarely pick it up again. £30 is too much for what is seen so far and especially charging for Battle Passes, CTR NF was the same price and didn’t charge for Grand Prix’s. It sucks MTX and Battle Passes are in here too and they didn’t even confirm single player they dodged it and to me inferring that they are unlikely to do it. I genuinely don’t see a reason to pick up this game

I have my issues with certain things about the game but saying not to buy the game on the premise it has no single player and might one day shut down is an L take. Crash fans have gotten the original trilogy, ctr, and crash 4 within the past 6 years. That's a lot in todays video game world for a platform game. Activision has earned the opportunity to try a different type of crash game. This game looks to be a way to try to bring a new player base to the Crash franchise, which can only help influence new Crash games. Crash 5 is around the corner and will still be a platform game. Let's see how it is before we ostracize it.
