Completely agree mate. Their customer service is absolutely abysmal, bordering on non existent, and they seemingly don't know how or are simply unwilling to properly package and protect a product so that it doesn't get completely destroyed in transit. They're blatantly going to go out of business soon and quite frankly it can't come soon enough! Good riddance to them!

At least you got your game. I received the steel book damaged, but have yet to receive the game itself over a week later. Finally got an email from the courier saying they should get my game out for dispatch soon. so I preordered a game weeks ago to receive it approx a week and a half after the release date. I doubt I'll ever buy from them again. It's just a pity they have exclusivity on special editions in the U.K.

Its mad that GAME cant get the game to you on time but all the other retailers seemed happy to just break the street date for it. I'd love the upcoming indiana jones steel book but im not going to repeat my mistake. Should probably start giving amazon the steel book deals instead.

I stopped using them back in 2017 when when I bought Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana for PS4, quite an expensive rare game at the time, from them new. It turned up and the game was in an absolute state, no cellophane, cracked case, ripped inserts and a clearly used disc. I tried to refund it and they refused to acknowledge that it was used and because it had been 'opened'. I'm not going to lie, in what wasn't my finest moment, after being shunned by Twitter and online chat, I went into my local store and I lost it with them. Never been back since.

Its mad, what are you meant to do if it arrives unsealed or the damage is only noticeable when open. I wouldn't have seen the damage to the steel book until it was open. The whole it must be sealed is a joke. If its faulty how do you know until you try something. The discs might not even work.

Sorry you experienced that mate. GAME and most UK retailers are always dodgy when it comes to this sort of stuff. I never buy from GAME now either. Did you accept the partial refund? If you haven't, use your UK consumer rights. Under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 since you purchased the item in the past 6 months, the damage wasn't your fault and it's not fit for purpose then you're entitled to a refund/replacement. Since they don't have replacements available it should be a full refund. Their policy is their policy it doesn't really apply to damaged items. Either go in-store or ring them and state your rights. If the agent refuses, don't be rude or angry with them, just politely ask for a supervisor/manager. If they persist just keep politely and calmly acknowledging your rights. Manager's can make it feel like it's the end of the line but it isn't politely ask to discuss with their area manager or whoever their boss is. Eventually they'll refund you. I've been there many times. If you did accept the store credit I'm not sure if that would change anything so you may have to research. All the best bud

I didn't accept the credit. I was originally offered a refund but it had to be done through their online form, which is where it started with the whole your order doesn't exist. When I questioned this when I got in contact about the steelbook they just glossed over it. They issued me a code to get a replacement for the game but I can only do that when its been returned, but its not allowing me to return it. I spoke in store and all online orders are to be dealt with online. The guy in the shop has told me if they get any more steelbooks in though he will keep one back for me to swap.

@@BawhawhawYT That sounds rough mate they shouldn't be giving you the run around like that. It's not fair on you and none of it's your fault at all. It's on them to fix it. I would suggest going in-store and calmly and politely asking to see the manager and explain the situation about how the online system is not working for you and the order isn't showing on their systems. You have the confirmation email I assume as proof? Because that will have the transaction information of the date/time you paid as well as your payment method. They can contact their head office/area manager in-store and sort it that way. When I've dealt with them before I usually ask the store manager for the area manager's email/number. Or you can contact their head-office again on the phone, politely ask to discuss with a manager and resolve it that way. Because their usual methods of processing a refund/return aren't working on this occasion. They'll likely still say they can't do anything and just repeat the store credit spiel, restate their policy saying they can't do anything or some other thing but at the end of the day you're entitled to a full refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 because it's not fit for purpose due to the damage that isn't your fault within 6 months and they have no means to replace it. You can politely decline their attempts to send you away with this and calmly repeat your rights and that you'd like for this to be resolved. It's really just a matter of not getting angry, not being defensive or going on attack mode, just kindly and calmly persisting until you get passed on to the correct person who will fix it for you. Hopefully you are able to get your refund mate. You are definitely entitled to it.
@@MC-kk8xu I've got the local store onto it, I've accepted the damage to the game now as ive replaced the case and its just got a small rip, at least I can play it, but its the steel book thats getting to me. Thats a way harder one to replace, but the local store said if they get one in they will keep it back and let me swap it.

They used to be the place to shop for games. Loved them. Then their prices were at least £5 more than anywhere else. Not shopped there since they offered me £25 for trade in on a 2 week old game (that they were selling for almost full price on the shelf). I just buy everything from the game collection or shopto & also buy/sell used games on eBay. never had a problem.

They really went downhill from the time I worked with them a decade ago. Everything about the store used to be full of good vibes and a lot of the issues would get dealt with quite quickly. Since the sports direct takeover I’ve not even wanted to go in a store never mind buying from them online. And don’t even get me started on the delivery charge for items regardless of how much you would spend.

I used to love going in the stores and just chatting about games with the staff. So many were happy to talk about things they had played and recommended. It made me want to spend money. Now I see a lot of people either on their phones, no way near the game section of the store or just uninterested in anything they are selling. I've tried to still pop in from time to time and see what they have available but the no used games and just lack of anything indie keeps me away.. and now with this its the nail in the coffin.

I thought mine was bad my steelbook arrived with dents in the back and a damaged spine but at least my game arrived safely despite the poor packaging they used. Sending stuff out in parcels bags is always going to end in damages it’s ridiculous.

Thos was despite it being on a huge display and on pictures. I ordered mine from Amazon and it was also smashed to pieces, so badly that the disc had chips around the edges so wouldn't install. Luckily Amazon refunded. Game should too as it is UK law for anything bought under distance selling regulations to be refunded straight away.

They sent mine in an envelope, had a dent in the bottom. Asked for a replacement and they said they couldn’t do it because it was just a “bonus” item. Erm no mate, you’re charging £10-15 more than all the other sellers, it becomes more than just a bonus item at that point

That's bang out of order, long shot but if you bought on a credit card you should be protected by the visa scheme guarantee if not it may still be worth speaking with your bank as they can sometimes claim the money back.

Like everyone, i got the game in normal plastic case (come on 15th or 16th), was not happy as only ordered it from them for the steelbook. Anway, got the follow up email later to say Steelbooks being sent out later. Contacted them via FB messenger & email (end of last week) to ask when the steelbooks will be sent as i'm not opening the one they've sent if they're not gonna give me a SB, got told being dispatched at the moment, still nothing. Think i'll give it till end of this week then if not send the original back, not opened etc.

The amount of water inside the plastic of mine showed it had been in there a long time. I genuinely think their shipment got damaged and they didnt tell anyone. How else would they explain water in the product which was inside a bone dry jiffy bag.

Sadly I only have one very tiny game about 40 mins from me so can't see myself getting a replacement. Luckily my disc didn't get damaged by the shattered plastic.

It should be if you pre ordered it you get the steel book. If there isnt enough, they need to get some more ordered in. They knew how many preorders they had, they must have had more than was needed in case these things happen. The most annoying thing is, going by ebay all the scalpers got their copies in time and in good shape. The fans seems to be the ones that miss out yet again.

Apparently all these missing orders are down to them changing the way their system works, but thats not our fault they should have sorted that out right away. I would love to know how it happened. The parcel it came in was bone dry but it was inside the actual plastic the steel book was wrapped in that was full of water. Must have just been sat in some damp warehouse for a while.

I just think the staff are fed up taking the brunt of all the issues with the online orders. There are a decent number of printed signs up in the tiny space that game takes up near me saying things about returns policy or that they cant deal with any of the online orders.

I too have not received my steelbook and hearing what others are saying about it’s condition and the state yours arrived in is shocking how can that be considered acceptable to be sent out since it’s a pre order bonus how mine will be is leaving me worried and I’ve not even had any update on mine other than a reply email saying it will be sent out in due course that was last friday and still nothing I’m highly doubtful I’ll be getting at this point

I've seen quite a bit online too about peoples turning up in horrendous states. I would like to think that mine was a genuine mistake as its mostly on the inside (even though it had stained the plastic wrap it was in), but then again i did notice how wet it was right away. Yea it's been like this for a few months since they changed their website design. All existing orders are now not viewable on your account. Live chat doesn't work. You can send them emails, and they reply within a few weeks. Personally I sent them an email just asking if all my orders still exist, and they do. So then I cancelled them all by sending another email back. Too risky. I was lucky with Space Marine 2, it arrived on release day, in an open bag, so the driver can just look inside, but still got it. Other people got charged and had it arrive weeks later.

Yeah its a game exclusive. It apparently doesnt exist as they changed their system between the time I pre ordered it and the time it arrived. I cant see it in my orders, but have emails proving i bought it, but because the returns process is their automated system it says all my info is incorrect and that it never existed. Speaking to a person they just tell you it must be done through the online form... which I cant use.

Dread to think the state my steelbook will be turning up in 😩 I spoke to someone via the chat who offered a free return/refund for the game. I'd try that if I were you and order elsewhere. It must have got in while being in the warehouse as the jiffy bag they sent it in was bone dry and the outside of the plastic it was wrapped in was also dry. I honestly think they got a water damaged set of stock and thats whats caused all the delays for people with this.

Really poor. I would check what the Consumer Rights Act has to say about it, if GAME dig their heels in. Both items arrived damaged, so it's not a case of you changing your mind about them. I would be tempted to return it all for a full refund including postage. But getting these morons to see sense is half the battle.

They do seem to treat you as if its somehow your problem. It shouldn't be hard to pick up a game in good condition when it first comes out. Will give the Rights Act a look

Same thing happened to me except I've not got the steelbook yet. My copy arrived with the case broken two days after release date even though I had pre ordered. I don't know when the steelbook is going to be delivered I've not got any update about it.

Game has been shite for years, now. I only use their site when there's a collectors edition that is exclusive (which isn't often) I've very soured memories of their trade-in policies, particularly them offering me pittances for brand new games i'd bought mere days after release.

I remember paying fifty quid a pop for games, finishing them with three or four days, bringing them *back* to Game for a trade and being offered twenty-odd quid in credit. I would begrudgingly hand it over, then they'd put the game back on the shelf for around forty-five. Happened twice.

@@benm4290 Damn, that's terrible! Not even cash, credit too! I'm sure CEX would have probably gave more, they're not too great either but usually give pretty decent enough credit for newer games. I miss Gamestation tbh, that was always one of my favourites, & Blockbuster rentals, remember not being too sure about a game and just putting down 6 quid or something to have it for a weekend :'(

Now I just wait for things to drop down and grab them.. apart from the odd game I really want to play, like this... but I think I'll just wait for everything now

How long did it take to get to you? Im in Ireland, so I knew it might be a little longer, but I chose GAME as it had the steelbook. My estimated delivery date was the 15th of October, which was grand, but the tracking of my package hasnt been updated since the 10th, so now Im wondering what is going on. They said they could refund me, but their system isn't allowing it. Problem is to get a replacement for the main game I need to send the other back first, which it wont let me do. The steel book on the other hand they said they dont have any left, £5 off my next order was a joke though, this version cost £15 more because of the steel book, So its not like it was a free bonus.
