DO NOT crop Doberman ears; they are floppy when left UNCROPPED and NATURAL.

Doberman ear cropping has been a controversial topic for years, with some still claiming it’s necessary for the breed’s appearance and people like me arguing that it is cruel and unnecessary. No it doesn't. All neutering and spaying does is help the lazy owner. Also, When you spay and neuter the animal you are removing hormones necessary for the dog to mature properly. Spaying and neutering can and usually does cause behavioral issues. Not sure how any of this "literally helps the dog". I will agree that cropping and docking is cosmetic but there's nothing more regal than an on alert Dobermann with it's ears pointed to the heavens. @@Bunxana

Ya im getting a doby and im cropping it. I really dont care what anyone else thinks. Ironically he is going to be a guard dog for the family which is why i went with this breed. People get all in their feelings about it as if its animal cruelty. We already bred dogs for ourselves as well as interbred them which is why they all have so many genetic defects. Look at pugs. Floppy ear are not natural ears. Dogs descended from wolves and you never see a wolf in the wild with floppy ears. Same thing with bears, coyotes, foxes, dingos, wild dogs etc. floppy ears are the opposite of natural, dogs ears began to become floppy after years of inbreeding. Protection work is a reason to crop your dogs ears, long ears and tails are just something for an attacker to grab onto. Besides doing it for cosmetic reasons or cuz it’s the breed standard is completely fine. It doesn’t hurt the dog if done with anesthesia and professionally. Cropping is a form of ART

People think just because it’s a service offered by vets it’s an ok thing to do. Just look to absolute atrocity that is declawing cats and how terrible it is for them or vets that agree to remove perfectly healthy teeth on primates to cut down on the chances of biting. primate pet ownership in of itself is already cruel enough, just look into if you don’t believe me.

Really crazy, because my doberman I've adopted has floppy ears and a tail and I run with him everyday and keep him in peak condition since I like staying fit along with having a fit animal. You on the other hand look about as fat as you're describing the owner and dogs to be that don't crop the ears and dock the tail since it's really only for cosmetics. Maybe lay off the cheeseburgers and go jog and lift some weights a bit before you write a comment about other people being a certain way because they don't agree with certain things

No more cruel than people having their kids circumcised. They’re dogs and have a much higher pain tolerance than humans. Both my dobies were completely unfazed and showed no signs of pain after surgery. Besides they live a better life than half the human population, I don’t think they’re too worried about their ears to be honest.
