Driving around Tuscany is 1 of my favorite European memories. Even though I did receive a couple of traffic cam speeding tickets months after I returned to the states

Don't drive in Italy if you're foreign, for real, it's an advice from the heart. There are non written rules, hidden things ecc. If you're a turist and so you're visiting big cities take trains and metro

Hey, did you came prepared and knew about the ZTL before your trip? I go to Italy tomorrow and already booked a car, I'm afraid to death of getting a ticket...

@@ChifDelta Venice it's not visitabile with a car, there are parks out of the city but the ideal is to take an hotel in a city nearby and then take a bus. For verona I can't give you advice couse everytime I go there it's to meet parts of my family so I don't know where are the parks ecc. For Milan the ideal thing to do is parking outside the city (outside b area) and there is written when b area starts and go with the metro. There is the daily ticket at 5 euros and you can move freely. If you want to go with the car you cannot go till the center couse it's where the c area starts, parking is a challenge and costs you more than the daily metro ticket, watch out for the bus and taxi lines couse otherwise you get a ticket and you maybe you not even see it. And also watch out for stoplights everywhere, be careful couse there are cameras everywhere. And for ztl, not accessible areas ecc. If you don't know the area and it's your first time it's really like to come out of the city with something like 150 euros of tickets. Trust me if you don't wanna have problems take the metro

Yes, we got a ticket in the mail a couple months after arriving home. Driving in Pisa we drove on a short street but didn't see the sign, even if we had seen it we would not have know what it meant. Limited to local residents only. It is an unexpected tourist tax, I imagine they take in a lot of money with these tickets. Best to study the traffic signs and what they mean before you find out the hard way. Driving in Florence, narrow streets, pedestrians, cyclists and traffic was so stressful. We will walk or take public transit from now on.

It's actually to prevent outsiders from taking parking space away from the people who live there. Imagine coming home from work and find out that a tourist parked right in front of your house, in the spit where you usually park your car.

In Italy use motorsccoters as many italian do. Easy driving in traffic, no parking problem, and cheap.

in Milan are two zones: area b and area c, so if my car has euro 5 and meet the standards of emission to entry area b do I need to have permit to enter this zone? I want to go there on the weekend and my hotel doesn’t know anything 🤦🏻♀️

I have received 3 tickets after 4 months from leaving Italy and I don’t know what are the violations that I have committed plus they have sent me letters in Italian…. How am I supposed to know what’s written!!!! I still haven’t paid it but the question is what will happen if I don’t pay it other than just increasing it?

I've heard that entering Milan ZTL Zone by electric car (with foreign licence plates) does not require a registration in advance and that those don't have to pay a fine. Can you confirm that?

Our cities are very ancient ( i lived in Pisa in a house built in 1347 ) and it is not easy drive in.
