I understand that it must take a lot of work to make just one episode per week, but I could watch a 30-minute episode of you guys every day and still perhaps want more. If I come across anyone who believes that life is inherently negative and dull, I would always direct them to your channel as evidence that life can be amazing!

When we were in Rome our room was unique they use hand towels for wash cloths. The doors in our room were about 12 feet tall. And we had to hand in our room cards when we went out, and the lights wouldn't work unless you had your room inserted in a slot

This honestly may be the best travel video I have seen in years. You are traveling the way I love, with just enough resources to make it fun and enjoyable, but deeply embedded in the life of the area. The little places, the fun surprises, the hilarious moments ("You mean I have to back up this street?"). Thank you for making such awesome content.

I was hoping the video was about driving the Amalfi Coast. Having done it myself I was wondering how Americans would manage the traffic, narrow roads and hairpin bends. Thankfully, they had the good sense to drive a small car, which made it that bit easier.

Spent many years in a reserve unit based in Sicily. The only issue I had driving was the gas pumps. Fortunately, they always had attendants, or I would have filled my car with diesel more than once. Driving in the countryside is an experience when you are suddenly surrounded by sheep that come out of nowhere to cross the street, The architecture is amazing. You drive along the base of a cliff, and somehow someone built a town into the cliff. No wasted space at all.

It is impossible to fill benzine cars with diesel, the nozzles have different sizes (diesel ones are bigger than benzine) so diesel can't go in benzine tanks, however the other way around is easier. If you're in doubt check the codes or ask

I lived in northern Italy (Vicenza) for three years in the mid 1970's. My husband was in the military. We had similar driving experiences. Using a gps turned onto a road with high walls on each side. I was never so happy in my driving years to finally come upon a main road.

As an Austrian and an Alfisti, I love driving in Italy. Italians are some of the most fluid and switched on drivers in the world. There's some flexibility in the traffic rules, which might take some getting used to for the uninitiated. I've experienced 3 lane road turning into a 4 lane road because it was deemed necessary for traffic to keep flowing. 😊 Fai un buon viaggio! ❤ 🇮🇹

Going with a spontaneous Plan B is one of my favourite life lessons, in travel and in life! My parents booked nothing ahead on road trips with my brother & I in the 80s, and to some extent they’ve lived their lives that way. A life like that doesn’t tie everything down neatly, but when we’re not tied down we’re free to discover amazing things. And the only way to truly know that is by going with a spontaneous Plan B! Also thanks so much for the tip about driving being easier with smartphones/voice navigation. You made it look better than I imagined. 🇨🇦

I found parking in the larger cities more difficult to find or cost a fortune. I also drove in Ireland for a month and put 3,000 miles on the rental car…now that was interesting! Just got back from Italy, rented a stick shift to drive from Rome to Montepulciano and then to Florence, was incredibly intense due to all the mountains and what not. Then rented a second car in Florence to drive to Chianti region, it was automatic and it made driving in Italy a breeze. Oh failed to mention that I didn’t take toll roads on the first car trip so it took me through some interesting places. I would recommend getting an automatic car if possible unless you have been driving stick in that kind of terrain for years.

The end was the best part of this video. People who have been married a while know their partner. Last month as my wife and mother-in-law were pulling back into our campsite, I got up from my chair to guide my wife so she didn't hit the hitch. I just nodded my head when she needed to stop and my MIL got a kick out of how with such little input, my wife knew what I meant. She was expecting hand signals and talking. For the rest of the day, we would just nod at eachother randomly and do something for the other just to mess with her😂

The guided forget or omitted that Los Angeles is very linked to Assisi. In fact the extend name of the city is El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina Virgen de los Ángeles del Río de la Porciúncula de Asís. In italian "Il villaggio di Nostra Signora la Regina Vergine degli Angeli del fiume della Porziuncola d'Assisi"

Ex-pat living in Assisi. Glad you liked visiting my town. It is truly beautiful, as is much (all 😊) of Italy.

During my navy days, I’ve spent some time in Italy. Absolutely beautiful country. Rome, Giata, Naples Piza, Florence. Great food, people and historical sites. Best part of it didn’t cost me a dime. Compliments of the United States Navy.

What a beautiful episode. Paying for tours seems to be a must, if you want to really understand the history. Some of the stones in those buildings are older than our country. Loving this series but, miss Caleb too 🤣

Trish's narration really added to this video. 👍 Fun fact: The military uses a female gps voice because people tend to pay more attention than they do to a mans voice. Female instruction tends to keep the audience more focused.

This comment is a couple of weeks late as I just watched the video. Great job on capturing Assisi! I really enjoyed Assisi when I was there in 2010. I will always regret not being able to see inside the Basilica as I was there on Oct 4th St Francis feast day. The Basilica was busy & full with dignitaries & media. Great town to walk around in! I’m glad you both enjoyed it!!
