Hey Roffle ! I think it could be a good idea to add the Winrate of the deck in the description just to know if it is somewhat viable or more a meme deck

well, if you play the game you should be able to suspect when a deck is gonna be good. However sometimes the number of games he uploads can be am indicator too. For example for this deck he only uploaded two games, meaning he propably had a hard time getting wins to upload on yt

Win rates are useless around Diamond 5 due to win rate inflation via MMR tanking being a thing. Also, win/loss streaks can be a bad indicator of a deck's viability.

@@GaussianEntity I mean at the end of the day, it more showed that intelligence is hard to quantify and harder yet to define. That fact however, does not discount that an IQ test can be a good judge of decently high level capability (ie less a direct test of skill than most tests). I get conscious about saying anything in his chat so it doesn’t come off the wrong way. About a year ago (before Funglemancer Flurgle + Toxfin combo) I asked about a mill Shaman with Ice Fishing to pull Coldlights. I didn’t know how to say it for a while without sounding like “hey, play this deck” so I didn’t say anything. Eventually I found a workaround, “does a mill Shaman with Ice Fishing to pull Coldlights have any worth” and he answered the question.

quick comment here. The united states military has been at the forefront of intelligence testing since the beginning of intelligence testing, and i can promise you this, IQ tests are very accurate and are very indicative or your ability to work through and solve problems. It is in fact the ultimate test on critical thinking, problem solving, and level of intellect.

Roffle, I have to admit this is one time you really should do the work to investigate. IQ tests (legitimate ones) are VERY accurate. They are accurate across counties, cultures, and economic status. The problem with IQ is that people attribute the wrong things to IQ, like a person's value. IQ can be a predictor of many things but it's actually a very stable test. One of the major problems with IQ is that no one knows how to deal with some of the things that IQ tests indicate. So instead of dealing with the facts, people tend to disregard IQ testing as invalid because it's a very touchy and difficult discussion to approach. Your value and potential can't be distilled down to an IQ score and this is what most people tend to do.
@Roffle
@Roffle 3 жыл бұрын
I have a degree in Psychology with extensive coursework in psychological testing and assessment. My first job was in educational research which, in part, included analyzing the quality of assessments used in schools. I've done the work to investigate. While IQ tests are reliable (stable, consistent results), their validity (lack of bias) is questionable and the tests tend to especially be biased to different groups/populations. Regardless, I was mostly just being hyperbolic to point out that people put too much weight on a test whose application and validity is dubious.
@MrMagyar5
@MrMagyar5 3 жыл бұрын
@@Roffle You should explain what you mean by "biased", especially when you associate it with groups of people. You associate validity with lack of bias, however, I was under the impression that validity in regards to an IQ test meant it accurately measured intelligence as opposed to other characteristics like education level or the ability to remember something (like a song's number of weeks on the top 10). Is this what you mean by validity? That a test is hardly an IQ test if it tends to measure cultural factoids or education level and as such isn't valid as such? I could see that this type of validity would lead to a population bias when these tests don't actually measure fluid IQ, but are substituted for valid IQ tests. I do agree with you 1000% about the weight people place on IQ tests. (or shouldn't place on them as they offer little meaningful information into a person's character) I've worked with highly intelligent people who make very stupid decisions despite their IQ, and I've worked with people who were exceptionally conscientious and performed far above those of their co-workers.
