I agree about the foosball table, not nearly big enough or playable enough to justify the price tag. What are your thoughts on investing in LEGO Ideas now that LEGO has rereleased some of those sets?

I like investing in LEGO Ideas Micah. I actually have quite a few LEGO ideas sets currently. It’s just a matter of finding the popular ones that people are buying up when they are available.

Why are you talking about brand new or sets that aren't retiring this year? Are you investing in brand new sets?

Good question. I don’t invest in sets when they are brand new. Only when they are close to retirement. These are just 5 sets that I don’t think it makes a difference when they retire. It’s probably going to be a good idea just to avoid them all together. Now and in the future.

Good Question! Probably the Tie Fighter Pilot. I managed to find a couple copies of the set at the last minute but I was not planning on that set blowing up like it did so I didn’t purchase many of them.

What’s your take on the 3 in 1 Star Wars sets from Walmart? Sets 66674 and 66708? When they were both $50 each.

Those are good sets Daniel. It sounds like you got over a 30% discount on each of them so with a good discount like that I feel like you will do well with them. It’s hard to always say how they will do on the after market but you have a better chance of making money because you got them at a great price!

@@TheBrickQuest thank you! I’m excited about them. They were regular $90. The marudar alone is like a $40 set by itself. So I feel like $50 is like almost getting two sets for free. I also picked up the Winter Chalet from lego at regular price on the bricklink designer program round 3. Shipping next April.

If you can get the world map at a discount, the part out value makes it worth it, but youd have to be at around $200 all in, so 20% off. Like others have stated these are lesser liked sets, and much newer. So depending on shelf life for the Black Panther, it might have value post retirement if it doesnt go 3-4 yrs for shelf life. I’m just curious, maybe you have a video out already, but how do you make sure that you can sell your sets? As someone looking to maybe get into it, it seems like just putting stuff online and hoping is kind of risky. Do you have a built up buyers base?

Good question Josiah. I do not have a buyers base. As with any investment, there is risk. If you buy popular sets and get them at a great price your risk goes down. eBay is my selling platform of choice and tends to do well for me. If you have never done LEGO investing and sales yet, it may be a good idea to start small and see how it’s going. You can always work your way up to more aggressive investing as time goes on.

I am not the biggest art fan but having the 1989 batmobile in my collection to build plus getting the 1989 batwing this Christmas I went ahead and measured my other bedroom wall to see if I could fit the 3 separate batman art sets and I can so I have already done 1 and picked up 2 more so hopefully once my daily bugle set is done I can get a jump on my plans for 2023.

The Batman is a great art piece! I think that will look great on your wall. I really only don’t like the map and don’t think it will be a good moneymaker.
