Six biggest mistakes: 1) Recruiting too many players - you end up needing to cut upper classmen to get your roster down, which waters down your roster. You also spread your points too thin, and risk losing players you would otherwise get. 2) Not recruiting "classes" at position of need. If you have a position of need coming up, it's better to sign extra players at that position group and see who develops (since it is largely random). Even better if you can time this class to be behind players who will be drafted, as they will all get that bonus. You can then cut the players who don't develop. This sounds contrary to 1, but they are related - if you are recruiting too many players randomly across the board, you won't have recruiting points or room on your roster for this targeted "class" approach. 3) Rushing recruitments. Lots of people will spend 5-15 points on a recruit they're interested in just to "hang around". All this does is speed up their recruitment so you end up needing to invest more points in the later stages just to make sure you get them. If no team is pushing a player's recruitment forward, all you really need to do is just enough points to make sure you make the next cut (which may in many cases just be 0 points). This will allow you to spend more points in other, higher priority recruitments in the early weeks, and have many more points to commit to these players when their recruitments do speed up. 4) Similar to 3 - Lots of people spend ~10 points in the early weeks on a player who doesn't have them on their list. That's not enough - even they have no offers. You need to spend at least 30 (and possibly more) to quickly move onto their list and avoid missing a cut. Then once you're on the list, you can drop the points down again if the recruitment is slow. But spending 10 points on someone if you're not on their list yet is almost always a waste. 5) Emphasizing overall rating over abilities. Abilities in general are great, and there are a few elite abilities that really make a huge difference (Shifty, Quick Jump, Aftershock, Grip Breaker, etc.). To me these are way more important than a player's overall rating 6) Not aligning archetypes/play styles of players. For example, having one man coverage CB and one zone CB makes it hard to get in a good defense - you're always going to have a vulnerability. Or, running a lot of inside zone with Pass Protector guards and wondering why it's not working - even if they have decent run blocking stats, if they don't have run-blocking abilities, they are going to struggle against decent defenses.

I can tell you that having partial hours on recruit makes a commitment take longer, but I almost always get the guy. When you have lower recruiting hours this strategy works really well to grow your class.

I do not really follow others so, I cannot say I know others' mistakes, but here are 6 things I would like to point out: 1 - Keeping Hybrid Safeties at Safety (they will not develop) 2 - Not recruiting certain archetypes because you do not account for switching their positions (they probably can develop faster elsewhere) 3 - Not going after Motivator T3 (steep price for the only good skill in Motivator, but is the best coach ability in the game for developing players) 4 - For sim leagues and for those wanting draft picks and developing talent, recruiting Scrambler QBs and keeping them at QB (they do not develop Accuracy ratings fast, thus develop really slow; though not as slow as Hybrid Safeties) 5 - Inefficient Transfer Encouragements (rough cut strategy: start Sr's under 86 OVR that aren't starting, Jr's under 81 OVR, So's under 78 OVR, and RS Fr's under 74-75 OVR) 6 - Going after Play Style Deal Breaker players (one bad game stops recruiting, avoid them)

Hybrid safties will develop i have one at a 96 started at 76 after 1 season
@CAPAEАй бұрын
@starwarsfan7740 Cannot say I know how that happened. They have the slowest progression in the game. Every single rating group develops either at fast progression or slow progression. Usually, skill groups develop fast (IQ, Hands, etc.) and intangibles develop slow (Power, Quickness, etc.). Hybrid Safties are an exception where Every Ratings Group including IQ and Hands develop slow costing enormous amounts of Skill Points to develop 1 level. Even Zone and Run Support Safeties develop Hands and IQ far faster. You can run comparison checks in your own game to see how each Safety with say 6 levels in Hands will cost to get to the next level with each archetype. I do not know how that happened, but I cannot say that is very repeatable from what I have seen and tested.

Heads up to people in this thread: After the update today, DT progression has changed dramatically. Power Rusher DTs were unaffected, while Speed Rushers and Run Stoppers progressions were nerfed dramatically. The result is now non-Power Rushers DTs are now REALLY slow to develop unless you flip them to DE or LB. Power Rusher DTs will become the new progression meta (again, in-game play styles are preference-based and will vary; this is primarily for dynasty sims, and year-over-year progression).

Always check your roster for the lowest rated players and draft a replacement. More often than not, you can find 3-star recruits who are better than them if they are a 65 or lower overall. Also, don't get attached to players and dump points into preventing them to be drafted. You will always have good recruits come through as long as you allocate Coach XP points into recruitment or bank on the transfer portal.

Redshirt your FR HBs and at the end of their redshirt year, move them to DE (position changes on National Signing Day). Most will go down to like a 35 OVR, but once you advance to Training Results, they turn into absolute monsters. Even the one and two star guys can end up in the high 70's and develop into the 90's. It works for several positions, like LB to OL (might want to edit appearance and equipment) and WR to DB. If you're taking a new job at a school where it's hard to recruit right away, the one and two star guys can be good to take for that first offseason.

The elite recruiter point COMPLETELY depends on your planned coach build and planned length of the dynasty. In a multi-player league, it will be more important, but that's purely due to the level of competition. If you plan on going architect, pushing for elite recruiter actively sabotages what you can do. Architect builds have a tight budget (unless you start at a school that can easily get the discounts AND you can find an architect coordinator), you can usually only put decent effort into one of Recruiter and Tactician.

@CAPAEАй бұрын
@frogalex8915 I agree with you to a point. I go back and forth on both, but here is my reasoning after testing: Master Motivator T3 on its face is a better skill, also because it does stack with Motivator T3 and 80+% of player progression is in the offseason. So, it is amazing, and I do sing it's praises often. However, the other hand is that Architect up to T3, does give you 2 forms of XP boosts, and the inconsistent ceiling raisers, but if you spec into Architect, you also should spec into base Motivator T3. This gives you max growth potential so your players have more opportunities to hit those chances. If you do this, over the years, in-game goals even under simulations as well as 3-game streaks will be easy because of the quality of your players. This mixed with the much maligned CEO Senior Superlatives gives you really good opportunities to push caps for players with a little bit of normalcy. TL;DR Master Motivator is better, but if you spec it right, Architect is Every bit it's equal, and more. It would be like the difference between Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota, if Jameis's floor was only slightly lower than Mariota's instead of as low as Nathan Peterman's.

@marcusnfishy Just to be clear, that inflated overall rating is how they will perform in season. Their base overall is the only thing that matters in drafting. The boost will go away as soon as you go into the Players Leaving Phase, and if they are not even 86 overall minimum, they are not even getting drafted in the seventh round. That said, Tactician coordinators are good for the first season in a new school to help team performance the first year. So good on you 👍

@marcusnfishy Fair, but after the first year, you would get more mileage out of your players by using Motivator to get them better permanent buffs. As you progress year over year, less True Freshman starters will happen for you until they become non-existent. @JustAirizz Agreed, Hard Sell penalty is rough, do not do it unless you have a certainly through elimination. That said, the negative effects can be quelled with another one at full strength. Sometimes you can do process of elimination for hard sell because there are fixed combinations for executing it. If they have a dealbreaker, one of the green checks will be their dealbreaker then just just go through until you find the right combo for the last 1 or 2. This is easier if two check marks have already been revealed. Only bad part is some of the hard sells have similar 2 out of the 3 combos. At this point I use sway to get them to like the better of any two that conflict. What sucks though is when you have been putting hours on a recruit for weeks and they outright refuse to reveal their 3 green checks until another school is about to snatch them away.

I prefaced the video with (excluding the cheese coach build / discount bundle) since it’s mostly only doable in very specific situations / offline leagues.

@PoodleGaming yeah sorry I wasn’t saying use the “cheese” method. What I meant was that method proves that the CEO discount ability applies to Coordinators, not just the HC, so while it might not help you that much as the HC by the time you get it, the ability will help maximize all your coordinators going forward once you unlock it. Helps you have as many boosts as possible across all 3 coaches

The thing about that instant commit ability is that you don’t really need it because the instant commits are going to happen more so based on your team and coach prestige and not that ability. I experimented with the ability in different leagues and did not notice a big difference.

Only thing I’ll say that is a true advantage of Program Builder/CEO is that it affects your job offers. Most big schools want those archetypes

The “half assed recruiting” that’d bs. I constantly have 8-12 5 stars by slowly adding recruiting hours. To save for visits. Because I noticed every time I don’t get a visit scheduled I get screwed over in hours chasing even if I have 80 hours to spend on a player.
@machineunitАй бұрын
That might work against CPUs but it won't work in a competitive online dynasty.

I have a few easier tips. Only recruit needs, do not get 35 a class. Don't sleep on only 3 star Oline. They develop well. After getting elite recruiter, the number one or even top 5 classes don't matter anymore.

I just recruit anyone and edit them a bit 😂

Question on Coach Building... I started my first dynasty as a Recruiter coach archetype. First, I purchased Tiers 1-3 for Recruiter (except K/P), then I purchased Tiers 1-3 for Motivator. I noticed that my coach suddenly was listed as a Motivator archetype instead of Recruiter. Is that typical? Does it switch back to Recruiter once I eventually unlock Elite Recruiter and purchase Tiers 1-2 in that group?
@CAPAEАй бұрын
@MPKtheCPA It goes by which group you spent the most points in. If there is a tie, Motivator takes precedent, then Recruiter, then Tactician. Honestly though, Motivator is better come the offseason, because if you do not have Motivator you actually will get zero XP for offseason training, and there is no bigger Coach XP boost in the game than offseason Training XP boosts from your players collectively leveling up multiple times over.
@MPKtheCPAАй бұрын
@@CAPAE Thanks! Appreciate the clarification. I am planning to follow Poodle's guidelines so I have Tiers 1-3 for Motivator and already see huge ratings boosts after the offseason. Starting to acquire Tiers 1-2 in Elite Recruiter. FYI appreciate all of your various tips in the comments to these videos. Extremely helpful.

@@CAPAE On player development at a 5-Star School, what do you do with Players with Normal Development and greater than 20 Skills Caps? Do you process them as soon as possible in order to clear scholarships for players with greater potential?
@CAPAEАй бұрын
@MPKtheCPA Get rid of them ASAP. After 2 years, Elite 3 stars and Star 4 stars will already surpass them, and if they don't, that is because the Normal devs developed fast, but capped out, and peaked their ratings. Clear the deck, they are not getting drafted, and will not exceed 85 Overall, so they are only taking experience away from your actual future draft picks.

@@CAPAE good call. I have them on my “Encourage Transfer list” and it’s only August lol.
