To successfully Japada, you need passive income in foreign exchange-perhaps a house you are collecting rent on, a pension, your own house in a good area, and the ability to fly out if things get too stressful.

Sis, thanks for sharing your experience. I think what you may have observed with Nigerians is not really being empathetic. They are just resigned to fate. And that is a state of hopelessness. That is a state of being defeated. It's a very critical state too. I feel for our people. I loved the beautiful green scenery behind you. Many are wasting their time in the city, while their family farms lay waste. And shout out to Kano airport employees for doing their job and not begging for money. The begging attitude is very irritating and pathetic. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.

I'm in USA and I have found out kids there must pay to attend school? I've asked my neighbor what or who can I sponsor I am not rich, but My kids don't have school fees, and it hurts to hear this. I'd like to find out a legal real person or organization that is not taking the money to use high organization fees and they give very little money. I've asked a price and although I give clothes to my neighbor who sends back home to Nigeria, I want to do a little more especially education for kids. Please if you can, share true info of what I can do to donate to help a kid get an education. The scenery you're sharing is beautiful.

These stories are helpful to us who are not returning soon but we are sending money to those who are there. Unfortunately this inflation is paining all of us, even in the UK. So I have to think and think before I will send one kobo. Lastly we have to be very sensitive to be visiting people up and down. If you don’t bring your own snacks and drink, just stay where you are. The difference is the exchange rate, but everything here is triple the price even though our government lied that inflation had gone down but it’s a big fat lie…. Most people live on credits card and pay it back on payday. As for couple, some are only staying together cause they cannot afford to live alone… you need multiple income now to raise a family. When I see people abroad complaining about inflation I just dey laugh. They have no idea what nigeria inflation look like. Prices increases almost everyday. Nothing has price control. Government support zero. Everything is on you.

The inflation in Nigeria is caused by our people. Here in America once there’s inflation you will notice that immediately. Like something that you use to buy $1 , the price will go up to $1.50. Once the inflation comes down you see the price go down to $1 again. But the Nigerian inflation, people are just causing pain on others and blaming the government. We are our own problem

You hit the nail on the head "like westerners" because in Europe the inflation may not look as extreme as it is in Nigeria but most people have been struggling and in debt living from month to month for so long. Bargaining is not common, hosting guests is a big deal and needs to be well planned, weddings and parties are moderately to low budget looking. I hope Nigeria can resist!

Sorry about the mosquito reception. They are a little overzealous. Try bay leaf, eucalyptus, lavender, and mint can repel them naturally. Get a carbon monoxide monitor In each room & boil & filter drinking water. "No Japada Regrets". You have made the right decision and may Heaven show us mercy & give us leaders who fear God & serve the people. Africa has everything to succeed. As Chinua Achebe said: the problem with Nigeria is a problem of leadership. Even the mosquitoes can be brought to heel.

👩🏽‍🦱 Inflation is lower than 3% in the U.S. In fact, as of September 2024, currently, the inflation rate in the United States is 2.5%, which is the lowest it's been since February 2021, during the pandemic. Inflation is currently (way) down from 9.1% in mid-2022 in the US, due to the pandemic. Therefore, inflation isn’t high everywhere. Inflation at 2% is good, and we’re almost there. 🇺🇸
