Plus people generally don’t eat the banana peel unlike the skin of a potato

I used to work in a Walmart distribution facility. You should most definitely wash your fn bananas. They dont just arrive ready to get shipped to the store, to fully ripen and turn yellow for you to eat. They come in and for like 3 or 4 days they are sprayed and treated with chemicals to make them even start ripening, yes btw this includes organic ones. You cant eat them before this process. Do what you want, but I suggest you rinse them off.

She's right it's most definitely not the same potatoes grow in the ground and aren't cleaned very well before being shipped out you'd get dirt all over the potato if you don't wash it bananas grow in a tree and are also rinsed before shipping to remove insects so yes that is odd unnecessary and hilarious on your part lol

If the peel has any chance of being eaten you wash it.
