Great review. I prefer the 85/15s passive sound kaysa sa Fishman Fluence's. I have tried Fishman active pups before and i still returned to passives. Sometimes di naman kailangan na gastusan ang pickups if they are working fine, sound great and still relevant sa needs mo as a gigging musician. And yeah the audience wont even care if you have new pickup or not. Just my 2 cents.

Thank you for this vlog, PAX! Yea, tone wise, magkkaroon tlga ng changes if you change the pickup. But every pickup has its own beauty - it is really up to the player kng ano mas prefer nia. And most of the time, depende din tlga sa hands ng player ang tone. I have PRS SE C24, and the 85/15 S pickup is fine with me (cannot recall if this is better than an Ibanez RG pickup that I used before. Never had a Gibson). For me, your best guitar is what you have right now. Maximize it and be faithful on it. Invest more time sa practice than looking for a new guitar. Soon enough, once you are ready, you can purchase another, and another, and another one. I know how it feels na you want to buy more (ganun din ako), but I realize para saan pa ung mga gitara ko kung di ako magppractice haha. :)

To make it technical rin po, Potentiometers does affect the overall sound ng pickups mo. The most generic value is 500kA potentiometers for Volume and 500kB for your tone knobs. The higher value you go, the brighter it gets, the more presence you hear, and even feel. Magiiba characteristic ng pickup sound mo. Kaya nga may ibang pickups, like this Fishman, Nag papadala ng specific potentiometer value kasi yon yung sweet spot for the pickups. For strats it goes lower than 500k. Generally, around 250k. It's due to the fact single coil are bright.

It's an unpopular opinion, but I believe they sound similar when distorted. The tone only changes dramatically between single coils and humbuckers. Regarding output, higher output pickups break up faster and are more sensitive to distortion, but if you match the gain, they can produce a similar effect or tone. ✌✌✌✌

@@irajamestech technically I agree as I mentioned sa comments ko.din regarding dto kung distorted mode lng dn nman mostly ang usage mo walang significant effect ang pickup in terms of tone kahit ung mga Seymour o EMG na high end pick ups pa na pagka mahal ng price wla ka naman marrinig na big tone difference o improvement lalu kung metal genre lang dn scope mo better upgrade ka na lng ng amp/cab speakers yan for sure my tone difference at improvements.

@@acid9ne0379 Mismo. Cabinet speakers will have a more dramatic change to the tone since yun yung last audio filter na dadaan ng signal mo. Assuming na people who like high-gain humbuckers usually play with distortion (or mostly genres like Metal), I personally wouldn't recommend a pickup upgrade. minsan need mo lang mag palit ng strings for a dramatic tone change! hehe

@@irajamestech correct kung sa strings maniniwala pko proven ko na yan my tonal difference with different brands and make and materials usually like Elixer laki ng difference sa tone kahit stock or cheap pickup set. pero upgrade sa mga high end branded pick up nah! hard pass. common Placebo effect lang yan inspired and hype lalu pg artist signature "kuno" like EMG james hitfield but then reality waste of money. hehe

@@PAXmusicgearlifestyle I already tried several upgrading sir from stock to a decent pick up and I can hear no very significant tone difference except for gain and boost on frequency peak as you mention on your demo video. besides I won't comment if I didn't have gear or any knowledge technically or at least experience not to compare of course in your level but the topic is just for the tonal difference specifically on distorted dirty Chanel regarding pick up upgrade which I do not agree.

Watched the vid since plano ko bumili ng PRS SE 24 or yung SE CE 24. Ewan ko ha pero maganda na yung stock pickups nya as it is. Listened to it using earphones, matapang naman na yung tunog nya or dahil magaling talaga magpatunog si Pax😊. Hindi ko na aalamin yung price nung Fishmans, panigurado mahal yan. For metalheads na mapera ayos sya siguro. Nice vid Pax!

I like the stock pups better pag naka humbuckers, and the Fishman pag nka coil split specifically voice 1 niya. I feel like mixing wise, masyadong nag b break out yung humbuckers ni fman w/c probably good for transparent or a low gain od but I could just imagine parang too much (siguro) for tube screamer types. Sana may demo din for drives haha.

if you play on a gig o my banda ka playing in live events boost is the only big difference but for the tone?? I think not, difference in tone maybe for clean riffs and notes but for dirty tone rock/metal genres doesn't matter what pickup installed unless na lahat ng audience mo ay my trained ears at nkaka unawa ng mga frequency peak at decibel difference note by note para ma appreciate pag tugtog mo then maybe that is worth upgrading in the other hand if your just a hobbyists or home musician this is just a waste of money in the end sa live event average listeners mga mkkiknig sa pag tugtog mo at ma appreciate lang nila how good you play with good tone sa stock pickup powered by decent amp/cab gear sound system will what matter. or unless again na for your personal satisfaction lang or umatake lang GAS mo pra mg upgrade na wala nman talagang sustainable difference. I don't think this is worth to spend $$$ anyway great video and very informative review.
