All it does is reduce the amount of glare on the waters surface. Which in return could help you to see fish better. Or anything else you might be looking for.

Sure as handy isn’t it. I’m curious what the difference in reflected light off the surface and reflected light off the fish is though. Why does one photon get blocked and the other one passes through you know

Not sure it might have some additional glare in some circumstances. That might be why they don’t polarize it as a default. Would be nice to have the option of a polarized lens for a GoPro though.

Worth noting that polarized lenses only make it easier to see past the surface, but not past particulates, so if the water contains lots of microbes or sand etc, they won't help as much.

Everyone is talking about seeing fishes under water. But the thing where this glasses really helpful is to help me see the fishing floats so much better than naked eyes.

It seems to be dependent on the depth of the water. Perhaps you could try one with more contrast. Of course, it is not possible to see fish in very deep or dark water. It is not a miraculous see-through lens. I can easily demonstrate this.

Ha, you should totally film a better version of this and post it. As I have several times, but the hilarity of it is that due to the fact that people struggle to see the fish in this one particular picture probably due to screen resolution, because it’s quite visible in the 4K version I created it with. But because people comment on it, KZbin shows it to everybody and the really good versions of this video that I’ve posted where the fish becoming incredibly visible, they don’t get shown to anybody. Thanks KZbin great job.

They work best against horizontally polarized light, so usually when the sun is lower in the sky and the water reflects the light at a shallow angle.

haha, WTF is the Milly Rock???? and yes you can see the fish in silty water, they are in this shot about 15 10 pounders schooled together. the hilarious part is that KZbin loves pushing this video because for some reason due to the low bitrate they allocate for this short form garbage viewers can't see the fish.... so of course that triggers KZbin to push this video because people comment on it saying they can't see the fish..... explains a lot.... there is a standard video 4k on my channel with this shot that clearly shows the fish, but hey why would anyone watch that when they could watch this right!!! LOL

They do if you know how to use them right. You got them turned 90° off. Rotate them and you'll make the sky reflections completely disappear.

@@goodisnipr Yeah there are tons of companies that sell em as polarized when they arent, cant tell ya how many ive sent back to amazon. the polorization of a photon is one of the more interesting aspects of light. like how you can block 100% of the light by mounting 2 polarized lenses in a row angled 90 degrees from eachother but by some magic by adding a third lense the light will now be visible to the eye again! that ones a mind bender

Don’t blame me, it’s you complaining about the video that makes KZbin keep showing it! As I’ve mentioned in previous comments there are about 15 10 pound H. Molitrix fish that are visible with the polarized filter, however due to YT lousy bit rate on short content they can’t be made out after upload…. What u should be annoyed by is the fact that I have 3 of these videos where the fish clearly become visible but YT doesn’t show you those because people don’t comment! So resist the urge to comment on a video you think is garbage and you will stop being part of the problem.

This doesn't give you the true effect tho... yeah it looks diff throwing the polarized shades over the camera but that's not what it really looks like.
