Though other mushrooms in the genus have it Coprinellus micaceus is not known to have Coprine in them. You should always identify your mushrooms to species before consumption BTW.

Bothers me to see people fillet a panfish just take a big spoon put your thumb in the spoon part, start at the tail and scale each sid up to the gills cut the head off, pull the guts out , flour and fry it. You hold it in your hand like it's a book and you put your thumbs inside the belly and then pull it open and all the bones will separate from the meat...... just found your Channel❤🎉 If you're interested I also have a wonderful way to make a bluegill patties amazing better than salmon patties could ever be 🫡🫠 that's just a River Rats opinion😂
@reliablyrandomoutdoors3 күн бұрын
Well if you are a river rat then you know n that nothing compares to buffalo for those patties your talking about! And yeah I will sometimes pandress fish (BTW that’s what the method u described is called). I use it more for long ears or survival cooking because GD bluegill chips may be some extra work but they are too friggin good cooked that way. Anyway bluegill is like chicken to me. There isn’t just 1 way to prepare it. We eat it enough that I try all kinds of methods. I’ll make a video on my bluegill jerky sometime

Hey I think the bluegills is real good eating the best way to clean them I think is when you go to clean them the first thing you do is you take that dorsal fin off because that door is open can do some serious damage when I first got bluegills and we first started eating them when I was a kid growing up I got my finger dash by one of them dorsal fins so the best thing to do is get a pair of cutting pliers and cut them dorsal fins off and then from there it's easy peasy you just scale them got them and they're ready to go or the other option is scale them and then take the knife back to Jill plate and play them all the way down and then you got a nice piece of meat the fry golden brown cook them bad boys up with some home fries made with peppers and onions fried and butter can you play me some baked beans over there and that's what you call a redneck hillbilly dinner I know because I'm a redneck y'all have a good day now you here

Hilarious. But also…big points for attempting to eat something that looked revolting. I actually want to try one this year but I am unsure what will happen when it gets close to my mouth….lol. Milkweed reminds me of mushy green beans.
@reliablyrandomoutdoors9 күн бұрын
Well if you can handle milk weed you should enjoy these. The flavor is considerably more palatable, I would even say enjoyable. Kind of reminiscent of mushroom once cooked

Look up a lamprey’s mouth parts. Think the mouth of the sand worm that Janna the Hutt tried to feed Luke Skywalker to. That’s a baby one but a circular series of teeth cutting into you while he stays suctioned on.

I said a mouth like the sarlac pit to my friend about it... so we agree on that one LOL such a crazy cool animal... and ive heard they are wodnerful to eat.... hope to either get enough or find a big one to try some day

They work best against horizontally polarized light, so usually when the sun is lower in the sky and the water reflects the light at a shallow angle.

@reliablyrandomoutdoors15 күн бұрын
They aren’t native in those waters. Completely artificial population. I usually do release the big fish and eat the smaller ones regardless of species, but I wanted to eat that beauty because like blue cats a browns ideal eating size is about that 2-3.5 lb range. If it was a 6 pounder like I caught on the white in Arkansas last weekend I def woulda let it go just like I did

In the shallow long flats with little pockets in them is where I love to throw topwater. Usually fish in those areas hear you coming and are gone before you ever got to see them
@reliablyrandomoutdoors17 күн бұрын
Yeah for sure! The smallies are pretty perceptive of whats happening around them.... esecially compared to trout, which will tend to just ignore ya walking in the stream 5 ft away from them

Cool video but I wouldn't be harvesting anything from the roadside especially below the road. That's just me.
@reliablyrandomoutdoors17 күн бұрын
Yeah, to each their own on that one... I do avoid gravel roads for the dust, and roads with extremely heavy traffic. But I get why ya might avoid it.. the downside of avoiding it is its so darn easy to harvest epic quantities there. And ive seen lots of vegetable farms down south that plant right up to the roadsides.

So, there are about ten 15 pound fish in a school in the shot, but due to the low bit rate YT allocates to short form garbage people can’t see it. And of course that’s the video YT chooses to show people, why? Because it pisses you off! And that’s how YT works

I love fishing the Deer Mill stretch. If you're looking for some bigger Smallies come up to the Eel River in Logansport, Indiana. It's a beautifully clear rock-bottom river that harbors tons of 3-5lb smallmouth.
@reliablyrandomoutdoors22 күн бұрын
Really, is it public access there or do I need to know someone?
@ZacksRealAdventures22 күн бұрын
@reliablyrandomoutdoors I'd say there's more Public Access than you can shake a rod at. There's one about every half mile for 8 to 10 miles and the best Smallmouth fishing in the state. it's my main fishery and it's almost impossible not to catch smallmouth.

I've been trying to find out how to harvest stinging nettle, store and use it for quite a while. My SN doesn't look like yours. It's rougher and the serrations of the leaves are larger and sharper, the plants are shorter, and already starting to bloom. I'm going to use my field guide to be sure it's the right plant. Thanks for a very useful video.🌱🌿🤔
@reliablyrandomoutdoors23 күн бұрын
So technically, the one I’m working with is called Woodnettle. Same properties, medicinally and the same sting. There are a few different sub species that fall under the common name, stinging nettle.
