loved your video!, When i make this, i let the mushrooms masticate (lol) for 3 days give or take!, i want them to be completely broken down, to get as much liquid and flavor i possibly can! So i would recommend letting sit longer.. Townsends said old recipes have said to sit for 9 days!, probably not necessary, but the longer the better imo.. .. also, a cheese cloth or nut milk bag/ tea towel, and squeeze the absolute life out of these bad boys!, its worth the extra flavor for all the time and labor, also, so much liquid left to be squeezed! :) Have you remade this ? :) & like others have said, the mushrooms dehydrated is absolute gold!!

@reliablyrandomoutdoors
@reliablyrandomoutdoors 17 күн бұрын
In the event my new friend Bassmaster8753 chooses not to reply I will provide 3 pieces of evidence for the name of this river. first of all there is only 1 bridge I am aware of that crosses the river, there are two large signs that label the water North Fork River 1 on each side of the bridge. Next and most official is the Arkansas roster of navigable waterways describes the North Fork River as a naviagable waterway that includes the norfork lake and terminates in the white river. third and least official is the wikipedia page dedicated to the North Fork river where maps and a brief history are available. No shame on Bassmaster here though as I noticed the fact that no locals actually knew the name of the river and almost everyone called it something different. That caused me to do a bit of research on the subject, where I ultimately decided to title the video "fishing the Norfork river" citing that being the most common and search engine friendly way to reference the river. So regardless of what you call it, Its one of the best big trout fishing waters in the entire US, and the fact that it trubutaries into one of the other best big trout waters in the US make it one of my favortie places to fish. Bassmaster, Hope to get to meet ya down there someday, I been wanting to dial in on the Walleye in there.

The same basic effect, the color does have an impact, though, and you can really split hairs to figure out the difference. The main thing I would worry about is make sure they’re not tinted too dark. Because if the tent is too dark, it makes it hard to see unless it’s incredibly highlight.

@@RonaldMacko-u5z yes, it’s well known In the area, apparently it was still visible in low water situations for a long time, newspaper articles from the 1920s talk about it. I’m just not sure which engine, my assumption is that it’s the 1892 accident not the 1890 accident, could be both though. I confirmed later the large pieces of jagged metal are from the boiler jacket of an engine. There are likely many cars down there too but not for sure. As a fisherman what I can confirm is that there is a very un natural change in depth in the channel under the bridge where a sudden roughly 40 ft increase in depth happens. This coincides perfectly with the location of the debris pile from the 1892 incident.

I’ve pressure canned potatoes in water and have heard of some people ‘dry canning’ potatoes in a pressure canner. Has your 2024 Maitake season started? I’ve already eaten a LOT and have some dehydrated, powdered and lots put back in freezer bags. Thanks!

Hello, for pressure canning I used the ball jar method recommended for mushrooms. Which is a wet methods. COTW (in my opinion). Is awful when it gets dry so this method is the best way to keep the mushroom enjoyable to eat. I don’t usually start looking for Maitake until the first frost as in my experience any that pop before that are anomalies. But that may just be the nature of the woods I hunt.
