I will definitely postpone to get lights like that. We are married for about 40 years and collecting plants for the same amount of time. After all these years and many relocations we understood that it's not us living to serve them, they are living to please us. Therefore we discovered that the most pleasing spectrum to our eyes is so called WARM WHITE. Because you have to live in the same room with them and your eyes do not have to suffer 8-12 hours a day. We still have some fluorescent, some LED. All warm white. And our 500 of rare and collectible plants had to adjust to our lifestyle. Wishing you and your plants all the best.
@BasiePlants3 жыл бұрын
This is warm white :) That is what I meant when I said it is like the sun 😂 I don't find regular LEDs very natural - the one that are sold under cool white or even daylight. In my opinion, they don't look like daylight at all. However with this light, when you look at the plants' foliage, you can see that it is closer to the effect you'd get if you were outside. I recently bought some warm white LED tubes (4000K) and this light is warmer :)

Oh, you make me laugh so hard. When you accidentally did the eye close up it cracked me up so bad. I just love your videos. I do have a couple of cheap grow lights from Amazon. They work ok for me. I’m in a small apartment. I have the goose neck type. One with two on it and one with four on it. They both have timers for 4, 8 & 12 hours.

Thank you for the thoughtful review! I have very little natural light in my apartment since I live on the bottom floor so grow lights are a must for me. For the Mars Hydro light, a wall timer might be able to fix the flickering for you. I use wall timers for all of my lights so I don’t have to turn them off and on manually. Also really love your videos! I’ve definitely caught Hoya fever and enjoy your long talks about them 💚

I have the same light on a timer but it's also flickering unfortunately! Seems like a mars hydro problem 😩

@@plantwithroos Oh that sucks :( maybe it differs from timer to timer? I think mine totally shuts off power so it would be like unplugging it. Either way hope they can get that flickering issue fixed.

Im using just sansi grow light bulbs and its just 24W for plants that are rooting and that first grow they getting... Other lights like grow light led strips that are nice and programed and beautiful also for parties but they have white channel that is actual grow light, I dont use now on the shelves because I have senior dog and she hate them -not easy to have a nap with lot of lights 😅 Also they are just 5W so not needed when its summer at all... Doggy is most important 🐾🐾❤ I love the idea of hoya wall -yes you need it!!! And after seeing your grown up hoyas Im worried what will I do in a few years with hoyas when they grow 🤔😅😅😅 Good review and if I have some spare space for sure I would get real grow lights ☀️
@susanjohnson58243 жыл бұрын
I would of never guessed that a hoya would have smaller leaves under a high amount of light that surprised me. I think the intense grow lights would be fabulous during the winter when we get so little natural sunlight in the upper midwest of the United States. I'm just using LED bulbs and they have helped a lot but I may need to upgrade. Finally received a Hoya Curtisii last week I hope I can keep it happy, it's lovely.

How tall are your ceilings Miro? Ive been shopping for a grow tent but now I’m considering perhaps just buying a grow light and shelves instead. Your set up is benefitting so many more plants (and I’m a huge fan of that!) but your ceilings appear to be higher than I have in my plant room. Great video! So much useful info. Thank you!

Thank you for this review . I think the dimmer is necessary on these grow tent lights. Our tropical plants are a bit delicate . There are a couple of less powerful models but they do not have dimmers . I like the simple LED shelf strip lights . Here in Canada the brand Sunblaster is popular with their strip lights . It is not expensive … wait a minute …probably why it is popular , lol. I get water everywhere , even foliar misting is drippy . I also would not allow moisture to sit between the floor and anything . It is a messy hobby that we love 💚🤟
@BasiePlants3 жыл бұрын
I would say dimmer is absolutely necessary, especially if you are going to use it on a shelf or in a tent. My light is now on the ceiling, so I can use it on 100% because there is a lot of light spilling so it is not as intense. Not the most efficient use of the light but I am satisfied. I do like LED tubes the most, because I can illuminate levels on the shelf, but some plants are getting big and spilling over so this light works great :D I wish there was an affordable LED tube that is an actual grow light! It is definitely a messy hobby and combined with the fact that I am clumsy.... ouch. xD
