Let me start by saying this was not the most scientific test. It was merely my experience after receiving several suggestions that these two products would work on my scratched and dinged up poly-coated dark stained poplar wood chairs. If you saw my earlier video on “Where Restore-A-Finish Works Best” you know that these chairs are not shellac or lacquer topped. Also, in that video I also mention the best way to repair the damage was to sand it back, reapply stain and then a topcoat. The good news with this adventure, I found “Polyshades” to be very helpful for a change! (Note: In my opinion that product has been hard to get nice results from it.)
