Dutch is my native language, and I can understand German a bit because of how close it is to Dutch, but can't really speak it. Depends on what that language is. Dutch is pretty similar to English, and if you speak Portuguese and Spanish you could probably learn Italian and French quite easily. It's not the same as learning a language from a completely different family, like Russian, Chinese, Swahili, etc..

🇧🇪It’s actually fairly common in the dutch part of Belgium. Most people here speak Dutch, French and English. I speak 4 Languages myself. Once you know both a Germanic and a Latin language the rest gets easier to learn because they are very similar. But tbh speaking dutch with an exaggerated german accent is often enough to make them understand what you are saying already. It might seem crazy for someone who only speaks 1 language tho.🇧🇪

As a Spanish speaker I would translate "schoolboy defending" colegial defendiendo. De todos modos, es increíble que ambos jugadores hablen varios idiomas. 10/10

It's not "defending" in that sense (gerundio). It's defending in the sense of "defensa". So, "defensa de colegial", but it's not a very common expression. Something like "defensa chapucera" or "defensa ingenua" would better convey the meaning of the English expression they used.
