I am also in the US know English, some Spanish, some Italian.... I want to move to Europe though (easiest time to immigrate is coming up for me.... university), so I will likely finish one of Spanish or Italian (or some other latin language, like French) once I get to Europe.

1:26 - That actually means means "youth level defender" ("juvenil" means a player from the youth teams - in both Portuguese and Spanish - it doesn't imply amateur "playground" defending the way the English expression does). There are expressions that have almost the same _meaning_ in those languages, but they're not _translations_ of the English expression he was asked to translate.

@chaopauludo78214 жыл бұрын
Talvez seria "defesa infantil" Mas "school" e "boy" é mais menino/adolescente do que criança/adolescente

@@chaopauludo7821 schoolboy defending é quando o cara faz alguma coisa na defesa que é meio vergonhoso, tipo levantar o pe muito alto pra chutar a bola e erra a bola, ou vai dar um chutao e deixa ela passar entre as pernas, mas nao existe essa expressao ja feita pra portugues, ele tinha que explicar isso assim

Well, the key is not to learn all the vocabulary. You pick the most common words first, then work on specific subjects.

🇧🇪It’s actually fairly common in the dutch part of Belgium. Most people here speak Dutch, French and English. I speak 4 Languages myself. Once you know both a Germanic and a Latin language the rest gets easier to learn because they are very similar. But tbh speaking dutch with an exaggerated german accent is often enough to make them understand what you are saying already. It might seem crazy for someone who only speaks 1 language tho.🇧🇪

As a Spanish speaker I would translate "schoolboy defending" colegial defendiendo. De todos modos, es increíble que ambos jugadores hablen varios idiomas. 10/10
@RFC3514 Жыл бұрын
It's not "defending" in that sense (gerundio). It's defending in the sense of "defensa". So, "defensa de colegial", but it's not a very common expression. Something like "defensa chapucera" or "defensa ingenua" would better convey the meaning of the English expression they used.
