I'd like to see this project and give the builders a much more limited amount of all resources and more time. It would be interesting to see how the builders can get creative when trying to hide the egg in a base meant for a smaller group instead of a large clan

Interesting to watch but the bases were just too unrealistic to have hours actually impact the raid in any way imo. The second base definitely seemed more usable but nobody realistically places TC on floor 3. No workbenches to follow; no bedrooms and no lootrooms to gauge the path people are taking in the bases make it way more RNG and less about hours to actually help them figure out the TC placement. Still fun to watch, though!

Great video. In the end 1000 vs 17000 does really make a difference in the larger project. All came down to where they decided to blow from . Had they hit the base from the other side I still would not say the 1000 hour play is a better builder. Luck of the draw.

IDK man the drop downs make it a bit of a pain but then your loot isn't all in one place, I think more people should have 12 loot rooms hidden in honeycomb all around the base, let's not forget the amount of boom the raiders needed and they still missed 4 loot rooms

@@MaxsRust If you make a base that big, then that means you are at least 5 people, that would be my guess at least. Its simply not enjoyable to live in a base that big with that many people, got to consider that too. Also tc is the most useless thing, especially for bases like that, to look at raidcost for. If you get the tc in any of my non solo bases, then it doesnt matter at all. You only get the upkeep in it, you would need to blow up 1-11 other tcs, depending on base sizes, to get build priv. So imo if you were to do this in a new video, do lootrooms/bunkers instead of to tc.

Ahh i wish they built a bit more realistic bases. The first base had literally 0 useability, but yes it had a confusing tc design. The thing is anyone getting that much materials build wise, would need a decent loot room, so loot isnt in 12 different areas, also sine there would be maybe 6 players living in a base like that, would require more movement, instead of ending up getting 3 people stuck on a triangle ladder jump up

I just build in obscure areas out of the way so I don't have much foot traffic in the area. I use a basement house hiding the basement to make it look like it's just foundations. I then make decoy rooms with each being aligned in a way to make sure only the real foundations are hit with the splash damage as floor tiles are weaker and may give away the secret. The idea is to make them waste their resources and to appear like a noob who has nothing interesting. Then after I make a small base nearby as a drop point during the day usually hidden as a loot drop off which I than transfer to the basement house during the night. The basement house ceiling will be supported using twig as to make easy to open up by spawning inside using a sleeping bag. I almost never get my loot room raided.

Definitely a fun and interesting video. I don't think I would ever do a base like the first one though. Enough ESPers out there to make a TC placed on the side of a base too easy to raid. Sadly it is necessary to consider ESPers if you want a protected base on live servers.

A player with more hours spent building is going to be more experienced. If I compare myself from 2500 hours vs 500 hours there's a big difference. Also, you learn the most from getting raided. Also, there's a big difference between building on a live server vs a build server because you can get people trying to shoot at you while you need to build, and you also need to build a lot quicker.

I'm at little over 6.3k hours now.. I've never really worried about making anything bigger than a 2c2 or 3x3 depending on group size. since if someone wants to raid you, they will.. I'd prefer simplicity and practicality over complexity. Widegaps dont do you much good when you're offline and if you wanna build a bunker, just live in a cave..

i have 500 hours and play solo and recently i made a 2x2 with good shotgun trap placement and it defended a 5 man zerg for over 2 hours and i somehow won without even spawning in my base

I like to build then break my tc and stash it away somewhere fully enclosed in hqm with a drop box and a bag inside. Sometimes i put my fridge in my core so the raiders can do a super sweet refridgerator raid.

It was VERY interesting but I think the grading system encourages too much building in an abstract way in order to create a base you would never actually want to live in rather than representing the robustness of the contestant's building skills in the actual game of Rust. Not to mention, it can't offer even remedial online defense shooting out. Ridiculous amounts of deep dead ends that are ridiculously expensive and basically unusable base space. Compromising loot, base stations, and defense is an intrinsic part of base building. Otherwise, the strongest base will always be a 1x1 with a gigantic maze of meaningless shit around it.

I feel like this ain’t true. I got a little over 100 hours in game but from the beginning I had a sweet base and setup with multiple doors and honey comb eta… building I’d the easiest part of this game imo learning what to place where can be the tricky part. My team I met are crazy into the industrial side of the game and building. We’re on my pve server currently and Thursday we’re gonna start are 7 layer think honey comb Zerg base with a maze to get inside of its only 3 of us but we have all the same ideas my small stable base now is 50-75 rocker ready my tc’s against a hill and full upgraded to HQM and traps yesterday for our purge day

Hi I just subscribed and I just started watching, I have 3000 hours and play as a solo player but in a team village of 8 up to 40 just depends on how big the village is. Anyway out of 60 wipes I had 13 wipes after 2000 hrs of building experience were i been the only base left standing in the village were I lasted all 4 weeks of the wipe without getting 100% raided I designed really cool anti raidable base and I unfortunately hired a pro builder to build my design I do know how to build most my design I just have not lean how to do my double bunker and power hook up yet.

I have the ultimate iceburg base that beats most offlines especially if they bring alot of boom on them as i use 3 drop downs that insta kill you and force you to go through 2 floors of armoured just to get your rockets back but you have to do this on the 3 separate loot rooms. I also put 4 turrets in the honey comb so once they open all 4 walls with splast the turrets get exposed and start dropping them. Ive logged in to find bodies all over the show and them giving up 😅. No better feeling!!

Normally without external TC's you would 1st off check the building area. So you would notice really fast, which side of the base to hit. With that the 1st base would have been so fast to get to tc.. btw i have around 300 hours and even i know this basic for a no external tcs base. I really enjoyed the video! Keep it up!

All my bases has tons of turrets and shot guns traps The funniest live raid I been on is I was about to get off to go to sleep and I was playing as a solo this time my base was next to AirF. And a team hit my base I stayed in my Fake TC room which was designed with shooting windows Anyway after 40 Rockets to get in and the Raiders die so many times do to all my traps and I kept resealing they came back over and over I didn’t get to bed until he raid lasted 4 hours by the time it was over they didn’t get very far in The next day when I got on it was raided while offline but they didn’t find the loot it was hidden in the roof. And they never found the TC they blew all the lower floors and the fake TC room I guess they wasted all their boom I went in repaired everything I couldn’t believe that the TC hiding inside a honey comb with a Pixel gap worked and the Pixel gap roof worked with all my boom and Kits they only got the crap lol

It's not a coincidence which wall the raiders blew, saying something else just exposes your hours. In this example, the builder chooses for them based on the environment, where will they set up their raid base, where will they expect the TC to be, and from which side will it be easy to get countered vs. hard. I am sure with more deployable and time, the builder would be able to set the raiders even more off (more certain that the wrong wall would be the right one).

I always attempt to keep that in mind, that is an important point. Using the environment and fortifying an intentional weak point based on the probability of where the raiders are to approach from/where they cannot. An example of how I use this in my solo builds is to create a triple combed core, but leave the TC on the outer layer of honeycomb and put a car/horse garage made of stone along the TC metal wall. Chances are, if someone is going to blow into a base, they aren't going to go through the garage first because of the additional cost, knowing they would likely receive nothing from those 4 extra rockets spent. I always build assuming someone is going to pick the most cost effective way into the core and exploit that knowledge accordingly.
