It is not necessary at all to adopt complicated joinings - you can write those separately - the purpose is to do the transcription accurately in the prescribed time.

Shakshi - I have not come across anyone who has done Gregg shorthand and therefore cannot say about that - I have also heard but unless i find somebody who has done and certifies, it is difficult to conclude - tutors for Pitman are easily available which is not the case with Gregg - so I my opinion is that the best is one which is easily available and can be learnt.

Not necessary Mohit but in case you have good handwriting it helps to draw the outlines properly and accurately, which ultimately helps in the overall learning of the skill.
