It may seem weird, but I love nail polish, but hate how fast it chips. I started doing dip as a way to allow my polish to stay on. I end up painting over my dip. Maybe one day I'll allow the color to be stand alone, but in the meantime I can practice and not stress about the color being cloudy. I always have to file my tips thin or I feel like I can scratch itches.

Scented activator?! I'm in! 😍 great tips as usual!! Do you ever have any issues with cracking? I find if I only do 3 or 4 thin layers my nails always crack 😥
@SipAndDip2 жыл бұрын
Right?! Isn’t that so fun! 😍 Where is your cracking happening? Like around your free edge/corners? Depending on our lifestyles sometimes we need a little more strength. Especially at those free edge corner areas if we have square shape nails. 🥰
@madelinemitchell48882 жыл бұрын
@SipAndDip typically it starts at the corners, yes. I am pretty hard on my nails but I don't want them to be too thick! I just recently switched to a more rounded shape hoping that would help.
@SipAndDip2 жыл бұрын
@@madelinemitchell4888 in that case, I would try building up an apex! So your first layer would go all the way to the sidewalls but about half way to the cuticle area. Then the next layer would be all the way to the sides and a little further up to the cuticle. The next would be a full dip. The next would be a full dip. Depending how it looks you can do a dip of clear on that ☺️ this would help keep the thickness down at the cuticle area but build strength at the free edge/corners. I can absolutely film a video on this apex method! I do have an apex video coming next week but it’s not focused on the sidewalls so I will be sure to film the steps I gave you 🥰 hope this helps! 💗💗💗

Hi, a new fan here. What’s the base in the nail before the dip process? Thanks.
@SipAndDip2 жыл бұрын
Hiii welcome!! 👋🏼 💗 The shine on my nail is peel base. Peel base is a product that you can apply to your nails for easy “pop off” removal. I use it so that I don’t have to soak off my dip powder in acetone. The downfall… my manicures only last 1-3 days. So if you need longevity, definitely skip peel base! @SipAndDip2 жыл бұрын
Hi Brenda!! 💗💗 Thank you so much for your support! Right now, the little bell is the only way that I know of to be notified. I upload each Friday at 12 pm EST. I’m not sure if you’re on Instagram but I also share there when I upload 🥰 So for the base liquid, you may want to leave a little more product on the brush. I also like to do a layer of the base liquid on my nail and then let it dry. THEN I apply a layer of the base liquid and dip. So the first layer of base dries and gives the next layer something to evenly grab onto. It also prevents that first layer from drying too quickly. Sometimes when there are dry patches or areas where it doesn’t deposit it’s because the base liquid dried too quickly or there may not be enough product on the brush 💗 I hope that helps!!
@brendaschafer9562 жыл бұрын
@@SipAndDip Thank you, I've been using the base layer as you suggested a while back and I do like that better than ruffing up the natural nail, and yes I may be to sparse with it and then trying to clean off brush and quick dip, it probably is dried. I have the problem of when I dip after about a week the ends start to seperate from my nails ( at the tip ) any advice?
@SipAndDip Жыл бұрын
It could be a variety of things ranging from prep to sealing it all in. For prep, I would suggest pushing back the cuticles, gently removing the shine with a buffing block and then apply a dehydrator. It’s possible the free edge is too smooth so the dip powder can’t grab on. Another tip would be to really cap off your free edge with the top coat. It also could be due to the free edge flexing and bending from not having enough strength. To fix that I would suggest building up an apex. All just theories on what it could be 🫶🏻💖

I notice some of the colors are kind of transparent with just two coats. I have that problem with some of my dips as well. Which always makes me add another layer or two. You and other dip nail “influencers” only do two coats, regardless. Is there a reason for this? Wouldn’t you want to get them to be as opaque as possible? Honestly, that was one reason why I didn’t like dips at first; because they seemed to not be opaque. So I’m curious why I never see anyone do more than two coats.
@SipAndDip2 жыл бұрын
Hi Vee! 💗 These shades definitely give more of a transparent “jelly” vibe 🥰 her other shades that I tried were fully opaque after 2 dips though so I think it was just these colors. It honestly comes down to personal preference. I stopped here with the 2 dips because I liked the way it looked ☺️ but you could totally do a third dip if you wanted! Most companies I try are fully opaque after 2 dips but I do find some shades to be transparent. Truly no right or wrong answer, just whatever you like! I usually stick with my 2 dips of color and 1 clear because it’s my norm 🙈 sort of habit if you will 😆 But absolutely, you can do more dips if you like a more opaque look! 💗💗💗

Hi Maria! For me, it is still my go to method 🥰 I use peel base normally though to keep up with my filming schedule. Prep will vary for each person depending on their lifestyle and nail chemistry. So if my method doesn’t work for them that’s totally okay! They may need to a little bit more for their nails/life. It’s possible that they’ll need a 180 grit file to rough up their nail plate. I personally like to start with the most gently route and then slowly introduce more to see what works + what doesn’t. Hope this helps! 🥰

Hi Debra!! Thanks for watching! 🥰 so these shades seem to be jelly pastels so they are more transparent. I opted to not build an apex because my natural nails have enough of a curve. I prefer to do 3 dips and build my shape while filing. Since today’s video was focusing more on keeping nails on the thinner side, I thought that would be a more straightforward approach ☺️ I have several apex videos on my channel though if that’s what you are looking for 💗 including one coming next week 🥰 hope this helps!

okayyy.. I need to know how you keep your nails so healthy. No matter what i do my nails still look like cheap toilet paper after I remove my dip

Oh no!! I’m sorry to hear about that 😭💗 what is your removal process like?? 99% of the time I use peel base for removal and don’t actually soak off. But when I do soak off, I do the hot water baggie method and add a scoop of coconut oil in it. It was a game changer for me for soak off 💗 I also apply cuticle oil several times throughout the day and do my best to keep dip powder on them for strength 💪🏼

Those laughing band mocking. It’s all good cause I know you are paid posters to promote their crappy product. The $63 is chump change. Gonna tell the truth one way or another. Either here or somewhere else. Gonna spread the truth all over the internet. You tube videos next. The list goes on and on. Give me my refund and refunds for every one you ripped off and I’ll go away. Until then I got time on my hands for this. Just for you, Nailboo. Delete all you want. Try to keep up with me. You’ll have to hire folks just to search for my reviews. And I’m getting a fan club in the background of folks who are eager to join my team. I played nice, giving you every opportunity to make things right. But you didn’t listen. Too bad for you, Nailboo. I’m coming for you, fast and strong.
