Another good thing to consider when hosting maps is considering what TYPE of map you're hosting. If you don't have that big of a following, hosting PMV maps is most likely better because chances are you'll find more talented artists than animators, I've accepted many people into my PMV maps and they did amazing, but I wouldn't let those people join my animation maps just yet. My point is PMV maps are superior because every animator can draw but not every artist can animate

Oh god, ive dealt with almost all of these problems and it just ugh My advice: if you're unsure of a deadline to pick, usually id say a month, but if it's a strict deadline such as a holiday map, you need to release it early and have a deadline earlier from the day its due. Ive seen so many holdiay maps get crushed like this and its kind of saddening. If it has a strict deadline, be prepared to kick more people. Usually they will realise they dont have time or an event will come up so they have to drop. Unless you have many backups, be prepared to take a few parts yourself. That's really my advice. This goes more for small animators who wouldnt have a large following and probably don't have many people joining their maps too often. Hope this helps!

I feel like this should be added to the don'ts. Again, I feel like it might fall into the "Don't advertise in the comment section" category, but I feel it needs to be said: *Don't go begging of popular artists to join your MAP, or better yet, don't threaten people to join your MAP.* Time and again, I've seen people act entitled and go to the most popular animator's they know of to join, and go as far as spamming their Twitter, their Instagram, even their own Tumblr, for crying out loud. If you really want them to join your MAP, then either be patient and let time do what it does or commission them. *Also, ask permission to use other people's designs if you're planning to use them for your MAP.* Trust me, I had one person ask me to join their Warriors MAP that was using a design made by another popular artist without their consent. I also remembered joining an MAP where it was revealed the host didn't ask permission to use their Warrior Cats designs and had to delete the server and went into hiding. I don't know where they are now, but all I know is that it should be a good example on how not to host an MAP.

Here’s my tip (if anyone is still watching this 3 year old video LOL) for if you have a MAP idea and really wanna do it, but you know it’s too much work for you. Make a fake map part for the song! You can pick whatever part of the song you like, and make a couple seconds long animation to it with your characters singing along or whatever you want! It can be super fun, and it’s not weird or anything, because I’ve see people do it before. Bonus: if your fake map part gets super popular by some stretch and you decide you’re up to it later, you can make the map real and even use your “fake part” in the end product. If it gets popular enough, maybe someone will be down to co-host your map! If you never end up wanting the make the map, or worse, lose interest in the idea after making your fake part, that’s great, because it means you didn’t start a whole project with a ton of other people before realizing you’re bored of the idea and scrapping it lolll

The one big dont that I have is DONT MAKE THE DESIGNS TOO COMPLEX. So many maps have just taken images off of google because its good art, without taking into account how many floating stripes or specific patches they have. It's HARD to animate or even draw that many specific patterns.

@UUEBWISJSVUSSNIFFUEUE3 жыл бұрын
And for putting parts together: go on the video, press "share" and "copy link". Now you go to Chrome(or whatever app U use) and put it in"MP4 converter". Go on the website, put your link in and download it. Do that with every part. When every part is downloaded, go to your editing part and put them together! :)
