Please excuse the hiccups in the audio, I recently got a new headset and I'm still getting used to and messing with the mic settings. Will edit description more later. Discord is Theatricals#9943

Super late but how would I get each participant to have their parts kind of connect? Does one person draw at a time and when they finish the next person begins based on where the first left off of? That would take a long time tho :p
@Theatricals2 жыл бұрын
It's kind of hard to decide on this. One way is to make a basic storyboard where each character is (like, character A is standing to the left of character B) but otherwise it kind of depends. Allowing greenscreen may help, but tbh I've never found a foolproof way to have parts blend/connect. :/

I'm making the characters go off the screen/not in view before the change but it can be very difficult if that isn't an option

Thank you for this !! I'm currently working on a script for a scripted, story-driven, mixed PMV and AMV map (fully animated or limited animated preferred but PMV allowed) with just over 30 parts, 5 or so seconds each (and a 3 parts per participant maximum), and I was thinking 1 to 2 months as the deadline, would that be ok to do? I hosted a scriptless map first to see if I could manage and if it would get traction (it succeeded and it's being posted soon) and it had a similar amount of parts, but would the map being scripted and story-driven alter those needs?

@@TheatricalsDo you have any advice for alternate ways to communicate + for communication between others besides a Discord server? And how to get / download Map parts after someone has already finished theirs?
@Theatricals6 ай бұрын
@@purpledshadow I don’t use anything other than Discord so I don’t really have much in the way of suggestions. If people upload their parts to google drive you can download them from there.

I know like this is really late but what should be like, a preferred length for one part and what is too much? I'm working on a MAP Call atm and it's an AMV type of MAP but I'm worried if like, 20 seconds each of parts were too much. (it's just the audio cuts would be a bit awkward with the cinematic audio I chose)
@Theatricals Жыл бұрын
20 seconds is definitely pushing it, especially with AMV. I usually say around 14 seconds is the maximum, but that’s me.
@CorelessRex Жыл бұрын
@@Theatricals Alright! I've lowered it down to about 10 seconds per part since I wanna get some more people in

What would you suggest for putting all the parts together (specifically on PC)? And how do I get the parts onto the MAP? Those are the parts I'm having trouble with lol

@@TheAddieDragon I usually have the actually MAP call playing on a layer below the rest so I can see when one part starts and stops. I will then put the individual parts over that and make sure the audio matches. If it does, I then mute the individual part’s audio.

Do you have any advice on hosting WIP checks? I've looked all over the internet and I can't find any information on it Thank you :)
@Theatricals Жыл бұрын
I honestly haven’t figured out a good strategy for this yet. What I’m doing right now is that I have a google sheet with names and last seen WIP, and every couple days I go in and update. If I haven’t seen a WIP in a week (this might be different for other hosts) I contact them. If I receive no response in two days the participant is kicked.

*So if I were to host a map, do I need to explain how each map part will be like in the description?*
@Theatricals Жыл бұрын
It depends on what you mean by how each part "will be like." If it's the lyrics and/or script, you won't have enough room in the description.
@MayplSyrup Жыл бұрын
@@Theatricals For example, if I were to do a MAP about Bristlefrost, would I have to inform them about each part, if not in the desc, then the Google form? If in part 23, Bristlefrost twines tails with Rootspring, would I let the person working on the MAP part know about that before animating?

@Theatricals10 ай бұрын
It is very unlikely that you will get many people to join your MAP if you don't have much in terms of animation on your channel. Doing an OC MAP (especially if it's your own OC's) won't get nearly much attention either. Unfortunately I really don't have the time or energy to walk everyone through the exact process of how to make a call or edit the parts together.
