Thanks for teaching! If there is two buttons, why not to use both of them? 🤔whats is the purpose of the second one?

How do you prefer your lapels? I personally like wider lapels, not too excessive though. Many modern lapels are hard pressed but I prefer a roll. When it comes to lapel lines I prefer them straight. On the other hand I see you have many jackets with a more of a cassure plus creuse style lapel line.

Thanks for your question. The classic notch lapel width always depends on the shoulder width unless you want to follow current narrower or wider styles. Rule of thumb is the wider the shoulder, the wider the lapel. Most classic lapel widths are anywhere from 3" to 3 1/2", but ultimately its up to you and the advice of your tailor. The lapel roll should start approximately 2" past the lapel buttonhole.

The bottom button undone was started by King Edward the Seventh because he was getting fat and his sycophants followed! Gentlemen do we think for ourselves or are we fashion victims like women?

To me, a dimple in the tie demonstrates, especially to my employer that I am careless in adjusting my attire and therefore will be just as careless in my work. Just my opinion but I think an important one.

That's a valid point but if your employer understands how to dress, he will appreciate that fact that it actually takes an extra step to dimple your tie. You are actually forming the knot by doing this, giving it that V look instead of it just looking like an untidy knot. This shows you are a meticulous dresser, paying extra attention to detail.

Never thought I'd be reading about a tie dimple, being a deterrent to employment. Ever! 😉

A dimple helps the tie drape properly. If your employer does not appreciate a tie dimple, then they are unsophisticated in dress.
