Coming from a thrift store reseller I understand the online vintage market but would rather be in the trenches. I do buy some vintage stuff online but most of my collection is straight from the charity shops. I can honestly have days where I find up to 3 or 4 vintage tees that I can flip for at least $150, and then I'll have days where I don't find any. I go for the thrill and for the hunt. There is no better feeling than finding an item you've wanted for so long in the trenches. It's a lifestyle I'm down for haha

That’s insane paying triple the price of a shirt that’s printed on fruit of the loom. I love shopping vintage and the best thing about the hunt is finding it at goodwill and other thrift store and it’s sad that it’s now become a resellers business just like everything else

Krills Daily exactly, 8 years is nothing lol, prices have gone up now from 15-20 years ago across any type of fashion. Resell prices even for sneakers weren’t even close to the prices now unless they were super rare. Paying 300 dollars for a t shirt that’s printed on front of the loom is wild

@oscarmartinezmelchor16954 жыл бұрын
Been thrifting/collecting since 2013, the whole concept is changing. I know others can agree that being “in the trenches” was/is apart of the love I have for this stuff. Waking up at sunrise heading to the most unexpected spots and that feeling of finding a grail for 50cents. Online shopping was also an alternative when I wasn’t able to go out but never the preference. All the hypebeasts are migrating to vintage and its taking away from the entire culture. A lot of resellers who aren’t interested in trading only squeezing as much money as they can from their finds. Not to mention how hard it already is to find anything. Now with all the hype it’s gonna be impossible to find anything out and about anymore. Online shopping at market value is soon to be the only option.

You can tell when someone hasn’t put in any time in the trenches. Shit will humble you it’s not all sunshine and rainbows at rag/bins. I used to go deep meeting as many people as I could who were digging rag houses/bins/racks/estate sales, I would dig with them and that shit really made me appreciate the finds and this was just to collect I never bought with the intention to sell. there was days where you wouldn’t find anything then one bin comes out full of polo or band jackets and someone would go home with 3000$ worth of stuff but it was because they did the work even when nothing was coming out. It’s hard work sourcing in the wild imagine these guys have seen tens of thousands some even hundreds of thousands of pieces of clothes.

single stitch was the norm in the US until roughly 95-97 where you see a lot of tees start becoming double stitch. Some like Brockum will have single stitch sleeves and a double stitch hem from that time period. I believe that Europe also adopted the double stitch before the US in some cases, so you might see Euro tour shirts that are double stitched from like 93-95.
@13ranzz8 ай бұрын
AllSport had single stitch on shirts up until 2003. I just got a 2003 dated one. I get what you're saying, generally speaking. But AllSport was the last of vintage single stitch.

@Sally-uu3yt4 жыл бұрын
I always look at the tag, cuz it determines the feel and thickness but most importantly the size. Brockum xl is different from fruit of the loom xl and so on. Number 2 is always looking at the year it came out on the copyright on the graphic which is when you'll know what time it came out from, what the band's album/tour they were on and so on. So imo the year is the most important cuz its more of a historic thing for me when collecting vintage tees. Other things i consider is the condition. If it's more faded it's a plus for me. Some white tees have yellowing which is fine if it isn't too bad especially on the pitts. And also the condition of the collar. Some have bacon collars/bad collars. Next is the band (i mostly collect band tees) which really decides the price. Some bands, tho might not be popular like nirvana, if their merch is rare can have crazy prices on their tees.

I got into the vintage scene cause i liked finding uniquie 1 of a kind items and the fact i was supporting upcyling. and sometimes old clothes are better than fast fashion quailty wise too. yeah its a trip to see streetwear and sneaker heads move to vintage but i believe it to be the eventuality of fashion people want to look different and feel special. (cool). but there is a scene for vintage one where people genuinely love this sh*t, I have not met brandon in person but him and I are from the same scene. NW. Id like to be liason of authenticity for the community im not old in vintage but i am not new either. If anyone that has anyquestions I dont do this often but feel free to look at my page ( @93till_thriftfinity ) im the care bear btw. its a small page i post what i like and no you dont have to buy anything from me lol. I can do that else where. I just want to keep the vintage scene dope and not have this special thing be watered down .feel free to say whats up, 1 love
