As the windows to our soul, some seriously not medical, “medical claims” have been made about the eyes for instance in Bald’s Leechbook, a medical textbook from around the 10th century, it suggests putting burnt periwinkle flowers and honey in the eyes for cataracts and to treat swollen eyes, by taking a live crab cutting its eyes out, throwing it back in the water, then applying its eyes "on the neck of the [man] who hath need."? Obviously as an Optometrist I do not recommend either of these treatments, and as humans let’s leave the crabs with their eyes people, seriously!
But I digress, in today’s video let’s talk about a common Japanese superstition, called Sanpaku eyes. And by the way, I had NO IDEA what this was before researching it for the video, so this is NOT a medical eye condition, but its eye-related, so let’s investigate!

definitely can be a sign of someone going through something very traumatic in life, trauma is forever stored in the body and sanpaku eyes are one of the examples

My friend has Sanpaku eyes, but I never noticed it until this year. I knew the term, but it wasn’t until after the earthquake in Turkey caused trauma to his lifestyle, his eyes were always buggy, but now the whites under his eyes are much more obvious. He is very emotional, like Pisces, he also is very spiritual, confident, and bouncy from happy to sad. His eyes mostly are just a tad Sanpaku. But this whole month they have been very Sanpaku. I believe that science means “I know” and to me, I know what I know!

Do you think magnetic eyelashes could also contribute to the eye being pulled by the magnet? I used them once and never again bc I felt it was upturning my eye and gave me a head in just minutes.

My pre teen has yin sanpaku eyes, always has but it is becoming more prominent... She is a happy healthy little girl who at times has some minimal anxiety. I do believe the body speaks to us through our features and health of our nails/skin etc. ... So with that in mind, I feel nervous for her. Do I have to be nervous ? She is a Virgo sun with a sweet Pisces moon. ... I just want her to always feel safe and nurtured .. she is a magical starburst (her eyes btw are gorgeous and dreamy)

If you look up, you will have white below your iris, if you look down you will have white above your iris. So it is all about how you hold your head [up or down] and where you look [Up or Down]!! I read Geroge's book and agree the Macrobiotic Diet is healthy, It was fun telling people they were Sanpaku !!

I used to have lower sanpaku, but ever since I started eating clean (non-processed) food and practice eye yoga, then it has disappeared. And I recall the first time I found out that I had sanpaku eyes; a rather dim witted girl who used to hang around my social circle during the 1980s was getting into the New Age movement and a woman had told her that sanpaku eyes meant death, so one night as she happened to look me in the eyes, she suddenly screamed in a very loud and high pitch voice with a hysterical undertone saying "Oh my, you are dying!!!!" Forty years later, and I am wondering if the Grim Reaper made a wrong turn, but is still too stubborn to ask for directions😅
