I know this is over a year old, but I am so glad I found it! Seahorses is my dream fish, but after watching this video, I want to wait another 6+ months for my saltwater tank to reach a nice healthy equilibrium so I have a good starting point when I do purchase them. Thanks so much!

I want a seahorse. I've only ever had freshwater tanks all my life, my parents use to breed angel fish too. When I get experience with Saltwater tanks I'd love to get these guys

These clips were dope and the info given was definitely easy to take in as something to consider. They're like adorable mini horses, it's awesome. Thanks for the input. Question: would you ever consider getting the pygmy seahorse? If not, how come?

i did dwarf seahorses for about 14 months i still have the tank to this day the wild caughts only live a year or so i think they make wonderful pets if youre ok with live food commitment multiple times a day +all those waterchanges

currently its just a juvenile clownfish & some macro algae (much easier)

All the seahorses I ever bought from an ad in a comic book wwhen I was a kid always either showed up dead or they died soon after or the supposedly pregnant seahorse never had any baby seahorses. Guppies were better. They actually had baby guppies that the local pet store would buy from me or trade me for other kinds of tropical fish.

Tbh I always thought of seahorses bein pretty exotic n maybe a little more costly. Make an army!

This was a big help, I don't think they would be a good fit for me cause of all the work.

You say 20 years ago like it was 20 minutes, haha. What a surprise wild caught animals that probably won't survive long were cheaper 2 decades back...
@cv8425 Жыл бұрын
You should have contributed to the hobby. That’s the whole point of being in any animal hobby in my opinion so that if they go extinct we can all make a effort to keep the species we love alive.
@anabella4166 Жыл бұрын
That’s such BS and not true. U prob came across someone selling some wild caught ones for cheap. 20 years ago they were VERY rare to find as pets.. and if u were lucky enough to find someone with them, they were expensive because they were so rare in the pet market. If you saw ones for $20 decades ago then I 1000% Guarantee it was someone selling some wild caught ones trying to make a quick Buck.

The con,it’s a saltwater fish. Near impossible to keep a saltwater tank.
@Novaruu2 жыл бұрын
why would you say it’s near impossible..? it’s the same as fresh water by has salt
@oldchunkofcoal2774 Жыл бұрын
There are literally millions of saltwater tanks you dope.
@trippin9899 Жыл бұрын
To say it's near impossible simply isnt true. I can't post links, but just search on KZbin "beginner saltwater/reef aquarium setup", "saltwater aquarium how to", etc. I'm a freshwater aquarium keeper(as of now) and I've looked into it myself, many aspects are the same between the two. There are a few important things to account for in salt water/reef aquariums(decent water movement, the fact that you can't use tap water, etc.), But for the most part it's not too much different from working with freshwater.

Not true at all. Just say it’s too hard for YOU and ur not educated in salt water tanks at all😂
