Around 1995 or so I spent a year micro dosing psilocybin mushrooms. Not enough to get blasted but enough to lightly feel its effects and still maintain my daily routine. I do wish I had kept notes about the changes I experienced but they were all good at a micro dosing volume. It resolved some depression issues I had been wrestling with, it ended my dependence on alcohol and other drugs in order to face the day. It changed my entire outlook on life and the world around me and the results stuck with me when I finally stopped dosing. No withdrawals, no cravings I just stopped doing it one day because I felt my journey had run its course. I think that more people could benefit from this but legality probably stops them along with all the horror stories. I am not saying to go do it, but if you do and you keep it at a micro level you may see more positive change than you expect.

Psilocybin is very much an interesting drug, many say it opens doorways in your mind. Two things I experienced while on it. I could access memories of events that happened in the distant past of my life, things that I had long forgotten about, it was astounding ! And, to my surprise, and my brother who was watching me, I stood in front of a full length mirror and I could access facial muscles that I never knew I had ! After about ten minutes of this, I had completely changed the actual shape of my forehead and eye lids, my brother was freaking out more than I was. All this is really not that surprising, because it gets neurons firing that are otherwise dormant, so yes, interesting things can happen with certain drugs. To me, Psilocybin was a very very interesting drug, because it allows the mind to operate in ways that are normally not available, the exploration of the self with this stuff was absolutely fascinating !

@shy404usernotfound Ego death happens quite often with LSD, so I’m sure a high dose of psilocybin could do the same, since both are 5-HT2A agonists which is what mediates their psychedelic effects. That terror gives you appreciation for being alive, but it doesn’t always work in a positive way for everyone.

Microdosing usually refers to taking extremely small doses of Psychedelic drugs. Psychedelic drugs (especially at microdoses, which do not cause any kind of trip or hallucination) are definitely not "highly dangerous, highly addictive" Psychedelics are also not narcotics, but I understand that some people just use that word to refer to any and all drugs

I have experienced the sudden remembering of old memories, moments and people i had forgotten about with my very first time trying magic mushroom with a "beginner dose". Excluding the mild visual effects (which were pleasant if not fascinating to experience), i felt mor at ease and lighter as well as the aforementioned remembering. I can't say the effect would be the same from person to person but i can definitely see why we have people actively testing it for medical use, be it depression or other yet to be known benefits. L-Carnitine is absolutely safe to consume daily, your body also produces some which are mostly in your heart. It helps to keep your heart healthy and also to using fat as energy instead of muscle. Tartrate is best for pre-workout supply (20-25 mins before workout) and Acetate boost cognitive functions. Since it's full natural like Vitamin C and safe to consume (your body use max. 4 g/day, all above leave your body like for example B vitamins) these are my BFFs. Did he say that, or did he actually compare it to prior eye exams? The biggest issue with Nootropics is wanting them to work , then ending up biased. Not saying either of you is lying, just that it is very hard to really know without some heavy independent testing. A lot of the time it is just thinking it is working, leading to us spending more time studying new things, finding new hobbies, etc which lead to natural increases in neural capabilities, and we point to the nootropic rather than what we have been doing since taking them.

Thanks for the information. I appreciate the balanced delivery aswell as the request for tally; that's funding and rallied me in. Keep up the good work. "Stay blessed and manifest success!" -Kno1

Yeah, he's definitely showing his bias there. Hard to blame him though, he probably grew up during the whole "War on Drugs" propaganda that is ridiculously difficult to overcome.

Tbf, even if the video showed a guy holding mushrooms he was talking about microdosing, which encompasses more than mushrooms.

@@Skitigdread sure. you can microdose LSD as well, but I have never heard of anyone dying from LSD either. sure, people die while on LSD, shrooms and even cannabis, but its not the cause of death. My father was a huge hippy and just as big of a drug dealer. one day he dropped a whole sheet of acid in his dogs water dish and didnt notice... thats like, hundreds of human size doses of LSD... his dog was tripping for over a week. But was perfectly fine and lived a long healthy life.

I quit coffee a year ago after drinking it for some 30 years. My brain box hasn't become slower, and my reflexes are the same. But I get sleepy earlier, have a better sleep, and usually awake two hours earlier than before. The only stimulant I take on a daily basis now is one glass of tea in the morning. No coffee no more, no nicotine no more, no alcohol no more, and no funny smoke no more. All abandoned by active choice in 2017, except for the coffee. I have never felt better. A couple of decades ago i briefly tried Creatin but I quickly stopped since I felt I got a much shorter fuse, thus becoming angry much easier. This side effect stayed with me for some time but eventually faded away, much to my relief.

A little late I know, but thanks for this video, Thoughty. I previously knew about nootropics solely from a Metal Gear reference. I was surprised to know that I've been using them all along (mostly caffeine:). A promising field of research, but I wonder...if the perfect nootropic were to be found and we all started taking it, would our achievements be as meaningful?

I will vouch for the fact that creatine will power boost your brain. My imagination goes wild once I start dosing with it. It also makes you stronger.
