My great uncle lost his eye in ww2 driving an officer in a Jeep. They took a mortar round and flipped... the officer didnt make it and Bill lost his eye. When I was about 5, I met him. Not knowing the story, i asked him why he always kept one eye closed. He said, "I sleep in this eye half the day and switch the second half. That way i can stay up all the time." I tried to do that for a long time before asking my dad how uncle Bill did that. He just laughed and then proceeded to tell me the real story. I met the man once, at 5 years old, and I will remember him forever. Legend.

creepy ass AI thumbnail. How cheap do you have to be to use that xD

It’s his choice. Don’t look at the thumbnail if you don’t like it. How immature do you have to be to nitpick over something so inconsequential?

Amazing life. Great vid. After watching I was going to suggest you do a video about Jack Churchill but wanting to confirm you had not already covered him I was pleasantly surprised you already did.

Brother, I have supported you for many, MANY years.. I even bought your book. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say, please stop using these low quality AI thumbnails. This one in particular almost makes me want to unsubscribe because I think it reflects a lot more about the channel than you might think.

There's nothing more off-putting than an AI generated thumbnail. Seriously, AI is great for many things, but creative endeavors are ALWAYS better without AI.

Amazing how some people not only have no fear for their own safety but after being stomped vigorously they don't even slow down regardless of the pain and hardship they endure. What a remarkable man indeed. Great job telling the story.

I am so happy when I see a story on KZbin about something or someone I never knew about. Not the same regurgitated stories that sites flood with and copy. Great story Thoughty2. I will remember this and his name!

Hey man love your vids, i tend to listen to them while I'm doordashing more than watching so i can't like them half the time before the videos over and I'm on to the next one but that being said you and why files keep my wheels turning everyday!

Brilliant. Thanks Aaron.. First time comment. But follow your channel avidly. Fascinated to know where you dig up all these mainstream-once-removed stories. You’d of thought someone like Sir Adrian would be a household name in Britain. Or at least some form of recognition. It’s a symptom of the way war is quickly swept under the carpet once it’s over and those who risked everything along with it.

There is no way that this man's incredible life could ever be made into a film. Many years ago, I've heard of this man before, but never in such detail. His exploits go belong the realm of legend. Many thanks, Arran, for this truly remarkable story.
