@@LS13. I’ve never understood this common comment. Sound IS vibration, nothing more. It’s illogical to me to say you can detect vibration but you can’t detect sound. This is like saying I can’t see, I can only detect my surroundings through reflected radiation in the visible spectrum. I must ask the difference.
@LS13.2 жыл бұрын
@@ED-es2qv there are vibrations that travel though the ground, then there are those that go as waves through air. Big difference between hearing sound and feeling sound friend. Ok, so I don't feel this test accurately tests what the manufacturer is claiming they do. Dropping a snake next to the device isn't really a useful test. The claim is that the noise will deter a snake from coming into the area (25m). They don't claim the device will scare off a snake. Just like when he jumps up and down, the snake doesn't leave. I bet if a snake was approaching and saw him jumping up and down it would choose to go in the opposite direction every time. Now to my experience today. I just effectively did a real world test. Last week I bought 3 of these devices (same as the ones in the video), with as much expectation as I had with my ultrasonic mouse repellers. Today I had a fkoff big eastern brown snake slither happily across my yard from the dairy to another shed within two metres of one of the snake repellers. The snake couldn't give a rat's arse about the snake repeller. So, in the real world, it turns out they are as useless as described in the video. Only thing I can think to do is minimise mice as much as possible and install chicken wire fencing that penetrates the ground around my home.

So how then, I live in the middle of the worst area for rattlesnakes in California on 10 acres. How can I make sure not one snake not even a baby ever touches my entire property? I mean never not one single snake . I’m worried if I put snake fencing around the whole property that I would be trapping the ones that are already here.

Good video, but I'm not quite sold on the method of testing, not to mention that the snakes in video are somewhat used to humans and handling, albeit to a limited degree. The other issue is that the snakes were placed directly in close proximity to the repellent devices. Hey mate, would love some advice about actual methods of keeping snakes away from the yard. My parents have had to rush their dog to the vet hospital after being bitten by a brown snake, .. $10 grand + a whole lot of worrying later the dog will likely live to sniff another butt. But the fact is they're terriers- if they see a snake they will have a go at it. So it feels like a matter of time until they come across another one especially now the weather is warming up a bit. One friend said to poor diesel on the ground making a perimeter around the yard. But I dunno about that..

Its not an instant reaction like its making a sound they dont like, its a repetitive sounds that aggravates them that that wouldn't rest in that spot, neither will they come back to the area they will try to avoid them, so the closer they are and going off at different intervals really annoys them. Ive had them for a month and they really help.

Thanks for the great test. Snakes are more incapable of hearing, (hearing organs are less developed) than to smell or to see, which are several times more developed compared to humans.
@LS13.2 жыл бұрын
Snakes actually have some of the worst eyes- they can tell if there’s movement and that’s about it, the direction their pray is moving is sensed through their sensory of the bodies (not hearing but feel). That’s why freezing for a second to try and find a way out is the best way things hunted by it escape. But the fact that they have such great smell, it makes up for them being nearly blind.

@FederationOfLight3 жыл бұрын
I'm not convinced to be honest. The snakes are probably more distracted by you being next to them rather than the snake repeller. Plus, you're putting the snake in the middle of active pegs. I won't be happy with the test until you put pegs away from a snake and then actually track whether a snake changes direction once they approach a snake repeller. If you can show me that a snake will move toward and even up to the repeller from a distance, then that will be a valid test. This test is like putting a mouse in a bucket of water and saying: "See, the mouse is not deterred by water at all". Not being a troll or anything -- just saying what I think after watching this video. #NotConvinced

These sound like high frequencies with very low power (amplitude)... theyre obviously solar and battery powered. I had military helicopters flying over a friend's property one time, and an entire den of rattlers started shaking long before I could hear the helicopters. As they passed, the rattlers stopped. This frequency is obviously very low, with a high amplitude. I wonder if a 15" subwoofer vibrating the ground would have an effect on the snakes. I imagine it would, if this helicopter sound stirred them up so much

My poor dogs when it’s snake season have shorter walks and aren’t allowed to sniff around just in case so is there anything that snakes don’t like that I can do to deter them. And don’t say if you leave them alone they leave you alone cause I can assure you I have been chased by a snake and it changed directions 3 times towards me so it was no,accident and also a girlfriend who grew up being told that found out the hard way it’s not always true. If you repell this insects and rodents, the snakes will not go there to eat them, and you will, probably, reduce the snakes. But the product itself, it doesn't repell the snakes, doesn't even make sense the product do that ... The product is bad sold.
