I use my soymilk maker to make soymilk. I enjoy using the milk for hot chocolate peppermint drink.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I had breast cancer almost 10 years ago and am also a vegetarian. This info is such a relief. I eat tofu but have tried to limit my intake of other soy products because of the controversy over soy’s affect on the body. I also appreciate your explanation about the receptors. Soy milk, here I come! 😃

I had it about 15 years ago and my breast oncologist told me to avoid soy, which I have done since. I may start eating some since it sounds like it is good for you.

@@MKCarol-ms7lg It’s interesting…I had an oncologist tell me I could eat 27 pounds of tofu a day and it wouldn’t hurt. Then, my current oncologist said there was debate about soy’s effects. So, it’s kinda crazy! But, I do like the info Dr. Marcum has given us. One thing he mentioned in the vid is to avoid concentrated soy. I’m assuming that means soy protein isolate, which I really try to avoid and still will. Honestly, I use the Morning Star crumbles about once a month, which is soy protein isolate. I feel OK with that, since it’s not that often. It’s just tough! We all have to make the decisions we feel are right for our bodies, and that’s not always easy to do. Take care!

I really appreciate this information. I’ve been very concerned about my toddler granddaughter who is vegan. I was really worried about her protein intake. She does eat a lot of tofu & drinks soy milk.

After a CEU course in "Integrated Environmental Medicine" by Cohen MD and Saal Phd. I got rid of plastics near foods and no Phthalates in soap, dish soap, and shampoo. Use cheap thin toilet paper and if possible bottled water in level 2 containers. See EWG for local water as it may be worse. It has been found xenoestrogens leach from PET bottles into the water contents. I have been working on a rainwater collection, purification and plastic separation system. Anyone into water plastic testing ?

I suffer from bowel disease and am on a low FODMAP diet. This keeps me from eating soy products. Is there an alternative anyone knows about?

Thank you. I’ve worried a bit since I suffered breast C. I’m plant based primarily and love the protein. I use soy milk unsweetened for everything practically you would use cow milk for making. Tofu is delicious cooked properly. Soybeans can be used for soups, baked and as ingredient in veggie “meatloaf”. Soy flour can be substituted for part of flour in recipes. There are all sorts of veggie substitutions for meats made from soy. I love soybeans. 😊

It is always good to have a variety of ingredients to include in your diet, not just a single source like Soy has become. Blessings!

7:15 Soy, like most things in moderation. I took isoflavone pills for change of life. My high dose over 300mg pill, when stopped, caused hot flashes and I could not sleep. I had to cut the dose gradually. Later I took a 51mg pill that was OK for a year. My CEU program from 2020 " Nutrition In Clinical Practice" A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and grains with modest to no alcohol intake and without excess meat, fat, calories and obesity may reduce breast cancer . Another study suggests better breast cancer survival among women who are physically active and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. For soy, tofu is bland but is made good with an overnight marinade. Caution when replacing organic skim milk for soy milk, the nutrition is not the same.
