Do Strip Washes Actually Work? (Adams Strip Wash)

In this video I put Adams new version of their strip wash to the test to see if it does indeed strip old waxes and sealants.

I have used Adam's Strip Wash several times with much success. I just used it last Wednesday when I was doing a full exterior detail on my wife's car. I always wash the car first and then use the Strip Wash using a mitt to apply. It worked very good in removing the previous applied wax. I could see the difference visually in how the water ran off the car. I could also feel the difference in how the body panels felt after the Strip Wash was used.

Yeah I feel with waxes it does a much better job than ceramic based potection for sure

good demo... the name strip wash implies removing the protection... I use these products more as a decon. interested in seeing if you think they work for that

Misinformation. Adam's Polishes states clearly on its Strip Wash that it will NOT remove ceramic or other similar coatings. This guy does not know how to read instructions. Reading is fundaMENTAL. Fail 👎🏼

@@CC_Marauder Thanks for commenting. You are correct about any soap or detailing chemical removing a ceramic coating. I wasnt trying to remove a ceramic coating in the video. I had a paste wax that was closer to a sealant on my car. Plus the bottle itself does say that it will remove waxes and sealants.

I would just use a plain car wash soap and add super clean or something to increase the power

My 2 cents i used chemical guys clean slate. I had to go over it a couple times. I would let it work more than 30 second too. I found going over it with a wash mitt for over a minute worked better. And wear gloves it's harsh on skin.

Yeah ive used clean slate before with decent results myself. Like you said if you can let these products dwell and go in with a mitt they tend to work a little better

So what did you use to prep your car for the reapplication of your ceramic coating?

I did a full wash with 3D super pre soak, then polished to ensure everything was removed followed by a panel prep wipedown
