Well said. Also, most people I know in my city have a garage they can detail from and wash their cars. Also, filming indoors allows me to have perfect control of the recording environment: lighting, sound, etc. Filming outdoors is way more challenging.

This morning 06/01 I used this process and these products to do my 2014 Kia Sportage. For those wondering about doing this outside versus being inside of a garage. Here's my experience. I did it outside early in the day. The sun was out but the majority of my driveway was in the shade. Temps were in the high 60's / low 70's When the sun finally started to hit the back of the car and since I'd already done the front. I just turned it around and backed it up in the driveway and finished it off. The whole process worked perfectly. I admit I had my doubts about the clay towel to begin with as I've always used a true clay bar in the past. But it did a VERY good job on this car and it had never been clayed or the surface decontaminated before. I could feel it dragging quite a bit on the hood. Which, as expected had the worst contamination on it. So I just flipped to another section of towel, sprayed and continued the process using lots of lubrication till everything felt smooth. The whole process from start to finish took less than 40 minutes. Since I'd never done this before, I took my time. Now, after doing this one time. I know I can do the whole car in less than 20 minutes the next time. I also wasn't quite sure exactly how much water to use for the process. I put 3 1/2 gallons of water into my 5 gallon bucket, and I estimate I probably used a half gallon total. Finally, I just want to tell anyone who has watched this video and is on the fence about whether this process works. I can assure you that it definitely does. Highly recommended. Especially, For those who live in apartments or condos. Also, if you live in an area where there are restrictions about water runoff with any kind of chemicals in it, this is an ideal solution for you.

@johnnybox-bn5qh If you use the same products and you follow the directions just as they show it in the video the end result will be very good. If it made my 10-year-old Kia look great it will make anything look good. I also used it on my 2024 mazda cx30 that I bought new and the result was absolutely stunning. That said I would not recommend doing this rinseless method if your car has a lot of dirt or dried mud on it, in that case you want to rinse that off first. Since the rinseless wash product when sprayed on your vehicle has surfactants in it that basically get under the dirt and lift it off when you rinse it with the sponge dumped into the solution in your bucket and lightly run it over your vehicle it will allow all that rinseless solution with the encapsulated dirt in it to just glide right off your car. I did not use the foam method I used the same method they show in the first part of the video.

I'm definitely looking at doing all of this myself when I get my new car soon. I think the biggest obstacle to doing this perfectly is having a garage that is well lit. Especially when you're putting the ceramic coating on. I have a garage that has plenty of room. It's just that the lighting is really not that good. So I've got a look at buying a few lights to make it worth it. All in all, even spending the money on the products, the lighting etc., I'm still going to spend a lot less than $1250 to get this done in my town.

Remarkable is the only word I can use to convey the incredible value in this video. I've had the privilege of learning this from Yvan in person, and it's not only highly effective but also simple and profitable. If you're learning it for the first time, you'll quickly realize how effortless it can be. You might wonder about dealing with "stubborn dirt," but simply give it a good spray before using the rinseless method. It's important to note that rinseless doesn't mean no "water"; it means the final step where we don't need to rinse, just dry. A big shoutout to @PanTheOrganizer for this fantastic series. First, this vehicle wasn’t clean by any stretch of the imagination. Second, it’s not because a car isn’t disgustingly dirty and covered in a thick layer of mud that it makes the information shared in videos less good. Also, my channel is designed for that 1% of the population that actually cares about their vehicle and loves detailing it. They wouldn’t be caught riding in a filthy car. Specifically because they apply tips and tricks from videos like these. If you want to be entertained by watching someone wash puke infested, mud covered filthy cars, this is not the channel for you. There are enough of those copycat “dirtiest detail ever!” type channel already out there for that. I hope that answers your question.

Really good class Pan, thank you. So the bottom line is the rinseless method can only be used if the vehicle is already sealed after decontaminating, paint correction (paint chip leveling), and a ceramic coating. Is this a correct assumption or am I way off base? I know of a guy who owns a classic Mercedes and he says he NEVER wet washes his vehicle. If a vehicle only had wax, or was overdue for a was, the rinseless method would not be a good choice because dirt is sticking to the paint, correct?

Hey Pan, not that I don't love what DIY Detail have brought to the detailing world recently but I already have a bunch of other products I need to use up first before trying their stuff. Could I use something like Gyeon Wetcoat or Gyeon Iron Remover as a clay lube with my clay mitt?

WetCoat isn’t appropriate as clay lube. And for iron removers, not all iron removers can be used with clay media. You need an iron remover free of solvents. I don’t know the chemistry behind Gyeon Iron unfortunately, so you’d have to ask them.

One of those worx hydroshots are great for a "rinseless". I have a 6 gallon bucket and mix 5 gallons of solution. Using the worx i pre rinse an entire crew cab f150 using about 3 gallons and the last 2 gallons is enough for the wash. If in the sun I go panel by panel. If the truck is filthy i use 5 gallons hot water - amazing at dissolving grime that way. Im still old school and using ONR plus carpro reload as rinse aid/sealant.

These 101 playlist worth the weight of your Porsche in gold 🤩 I've been glued to the screen learning from you, thanks for that!!! One doubt popped after seeing this one and the "The Ultimate Guide to Easily Wash, Clay, and Seal Your Car!" with Yvan.... Yvan after washed with the chenille applied the iron remover on the foamed and washed surface for lubrication purposes. On the "DETAILING 101 : Iron & Tar Removers - Everything You Need To Know" you mentioned that TAR removers comes first then Iron removers. On Yvan's context, after the wash media and with the wet surface, if I want to also apply the TAR remover it should come first, should rinse it and apply the iron remover.... Am I seeing this from the right perspective? Wet surface after the wash media, we can apply the tar remover with some clay mitt and rinse it after? Could we apply it with a clay mitt/clay towel? After apply iron remover with clay mitt/clay towel and wet surface but could foam the surface to lubricate it? Thanks in advance and keep up enjoying the detail world!!!

Thanks for the positive feedback! Welcome to my channel. You discovered one of the biggest car detailing channels on KZbin as we surpassed 940,000 subscribers and we have over 123 million views! I have been detailing for 26 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers. You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing. Tar removers aren't needed for every decon wash. Only on an "as needed basis" when you see actual tar deposits or road tar. In that case, I would wash the entire vehicle, then rinse, dry the surface, then use the tar remover, lightly agitate with a microfiber towel if needed, and then thoroughly rinse. And continue. Iron remover, clay bar, etc. The "wash, clay & seal" is a very specific type of method, and isn't necessarily always used. I personally deal with customers who want the whole nine yards done including polishing and ceramic coating, so this method wouldn't apply for me. Here's how I fully detail a customer's vehicle: Mercedes S550: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKLCpZmZrNesjKssi=whord2_UEFSg28UW Aston Martin Vantage: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXzKkmavj7uHp9E Volvo XC60: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqenc3Wbo82MfKM Tesla Model Y: kzbin.info/www/bejne/naDLnKZurbVohLs Porsche 911 Carrera: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJTOmpysl6ukqZY

And just like that, this video has become a reference for the net. Wash, clay and seal for both rinseless and traditional soap. Covers such a breadth of information in a concise format with top guys in the industry. DIY Detail "Clay" Towel is definitely going to be part of my Spring season product purchase. Definitely taken a page out of Yvan's book regarding wheels. Love Brake Buster, but after using it once for a thorough clean, my maintenance washes on wheels involve just a rinseless. They really don't get that dirty in two weeks. Even easier to wash if you seal it with some Turtle ICE Seal n Shine ;). I'll grab BB for tires and the occasional reset if I feel the accumulation is too much, but even then I'll dilute it at least between 2:1 or 4:1 (water:BB)

Hi! I'm loving your videos and your great tips! Thank you! I'm an older gal and want to do this to my black Rogue Sport. I'm limited with space and resources. My plan is to go to a drive through car wash, then take my dry car over to the vacuum area. From here I want to take some rinseless wash properly diluted in a spray bottle, spray the solution liberally panel by panel, saturate my clay towel, have Ceramic Gloss in hand and do what Yvan is doing. Then dry with a microfiber towel. Does that sound doable? I'm not going for car show ready. Just remove contaminants, give my pretty black car a beautiful shine. Any thoughts, tips, suggestions are so appreciated!

I’ve watched many DIY Detail videos on rinseless wash using that clay towel. A bunch of them show using a clay towel with iron remover and some show clay towel with ceramic gloss. However in this video I’ve noticed that once Yvan is done with all sides of the towel he dunks it back in the rinseless wash bucket. Wouldn’t that contaminate the rinseless wash solution given ceramic gloss is now mixed in the rinseless wash bucket or is that only a big no when dunking a clay towel paired with the iron remover due to the chemical composition? I’m guessing at that stage in the wash the rinseless is being discarded afterwards so it’s fine mixing chemicals since the wash is done. I bring this up as Yvan mentioned in a 2 year old video to not clean/dunk the clay towel in the rinseless bucket so I may have missed the context of that.

Don't get confused. Not all iron removers can be used as clay lubricants. Only those without solvents in them. Ones that are safe to use as clay lubes are the DIY Detail Iron Remover and CarPro IronX. For any others, you'd have to ask the company. It's impossible to know all possible combinations. And you would not use a traditional clay bar with an iron remover as clay lubricant. You would use a synthetic decontamination towel or mitt, like the one from DIY Detail or The Rag Company. A new car is never new until it's properly detailed. - at the factory, the paint defects are often corrected quickly by rotary polishing which can leave marks and holograms, so polishing corrects those, before you lock that in long term with a ceramic coating for example. - vehicles are then transported by truck, train and boat so they are exposed to the elements, industrial fallout, brake dust, rail dust, etc - vehicles are often left at boat docks (when transported by boat) or in exterior parking lots for weeks or months, again being exposed to the elements - at the dealership, the vehicles are almost always poorly prepped using the same dirty water that was used for all the cars on a given day, and poor washing and drying methods leading to swirls and scratches - at the dealership, a layer of cheap wax or paint sealant is usually applied to attempt to make the paint glossy prior to delivery. It's crucial to remove any previous protection before you apply a ceramic coating, as coatings need to bond directly to a virgin clear coat. If you only plan on applying a regular carnauba wax or paint sealant though, you could decide to skip machine polishing, as those protectants can be applied over existing protection and it's not as crucial to prep the paint as well. I explain all of this in this popular video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5jSqqV5Ypp2g8U So you can better visualize the new car prep process, here are the steps I perform on a brand new car for my customers: Aston Martin Vantage: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXzKkmavj7uHp9E Volvo XC60: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqenc3Wbo82MfKM Tesla Model Y: kzbin.info/www/bejne/naDLnKZurbVohLs Porsche 911 Carrera: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJTOmpysl6ukqZY Mercedes AMG GT63S matte black: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4abq5pnob2pjrssi=oGxoCp8PWt7gTncV Audi Q7: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmirdHWJi9OcsK8 BMW M6 Gran Coupe: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zp2maqivgL2mbrM BMW M340i: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6W7mX2Elqtje6c Audi RS3: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGWUnnSAm7B3gq8 Golf R: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKOUappqhbx9qc0

@PanTheOrganizer 6 ай бұрын
Not all products can be used as clay and seals. Clay and seal is usually done with a "lighter" spray, like a quick detailer or light sealant. The Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating is a long term ceramic sealant and needs to be applied on a clean and dry surface, so I wouldn't recommend it in a clay and seal type scenario. Basically, anything 6-12 months durability I wouldn't use as a clay and seal. Unless the manufacturer states it can be used in that way.

Typically you have two forms of chemical decon: iron removers and tar removers. Iron removers you should use for sure, but tar removers are on an as needed basis, meaning when you see tar deposits. Perforated synthetic décontamination towels aren’t abrasive so won’t marr the surface. Traditional clay bars are abrasive, and could POTENTIALLY marr the surface. When you are done claying using a clay bar, observe the paint and determine if it needs to be polished.

Thanks, they will be back in stock soon. With a traditional clay bar the risk is much higher because of the abrasive nature of them. Before Synthetic clay towels I used clay bars to perform a similar procedure. Unfortunately 2-3% of cars suffered marring because of excessively soft paint.
