The thermostat in the car on the left is in direct sun which will make it read higher. "If the thermometer is kept in direct sun for a longer period of time the temperature of its sensor will increase due to direct heat radiation from sun falling on it. Therefore, it will show a temperature higher than the true ambient temperature".

Helps the steering wheel temp, not the rest of the car though. In Texas or Arizona it’s 100°+ for many months and bakes your car when you get in it
