I agree Luke! I personally feel any journey can be daunting at times. From creative arts, musical arts, I remember even applying for a job felt the same way haha. Tattooing is something that continues to challenge me time and time and time again and I think that right there is what keeps me going. I don't always make it through every hurdle that arises but trying my best and doing what I can do for today is enough. Im grateful for sticking with it.

You’re an absolute GOAT man. Can relate to you in terms of wanting to give up and being discouraged, as thats how I feel most days and then comparing myself to others and not being on the same level, makes it even worse. This vid weirdly gave me the motivation to carry on so thanks!

Thank you for your kind words and support my friend! Oh goodness! That feeling I know all tooooooo well. I also at the beginning would compare and I would do this naturally as if I was supposed to be the best haha. I would sit there and compare myself at 6 months into tattooing versus someone who has been tattooing for 20+ years. Now I have this mentality. It is silly to compare myself to anyone else because I will be using my time to do that instead of doing what I am doing for you all and myself. Don't get me wrong I will find myself still wanting to drift back to this old way but I will watch my thoughts and continue to practice and do what I can do for today. All of the little wins within my days start adding up no matter how small the win was. I am glad you can find a spark within this video my friend. Should you ever have any questions along your way don't hesitate to reach out to me and I will always do my best to guide you in the best possible direction.

I am now starting to watch your videos and have invested in a tattoo machine…Sometimes I feel discouraged because I simply am “scared” to approach tattooing, but watching your videos really inspire me and has taught me the fundamentals of being a tattoo artist. You’re definitely an amazing “teacher” i should say & I’m glad to have found you on KZbin. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to share what you have learned based on your experiences! I love that you have saved your practice skins and placed them in a binder. I have been saving mine but since I have only used 6x8s , I have to figure out how to organize my skins. It is great seeing the progression you made as time went on.
@DanielYuck3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your time, support and feedback poppy! I appreciate you. Fake skins are a bit tedious to store but also easy to clean up depending on the material. So throughout time I kind of would just let them stack up and stack up. I had a binder laying around in which became the housing for most of these fake skins haha Sometimes less is more. Maybe even a cardboard box of the appropriate size would be a good way to go to house your fake skins. I may do that as well as a binder isn't really ideal for long term storage.

You can make silicone skin at home. Silicone sealant in chalking tube. Higher grade silicone runs about $13-14 per tube. Add equal part corn starch. Cheap liquid foundation or equivalent for color. Mix silicone and cornstarch equally until no stickiness, a mild tack is ok. This has to be mixed by hand so don't do the whole tube at once, unless you have really strong hands. Kneed in the color last.

@@DanielYuck yes I remember I was disappointed when I ripped through it although those skins are very thin. The first couple tattoos I did were unfortunately on my own skin, but I'm ok with it since they weren't too bad. I wouldn't tattoo another person until I'm 110% I'd do a good job on it. I'm only a year & a half or so into my tattooing journey and all I can do is practice as much as I can. I can definitely see improvement after every time I do.

When did you started tattooing on human skin?? I mean what year you start tattooing on human skin??
@DanielYuck3 жыл бұрын
That is a great question! The first time I ever held a tattoo machine was April 2020. I started tattooing fake skin for months and I think it was about 6-8 month into tattooing on fake skin is when I felt comfortable enough to tattoo human skin. From the cross contamination practices to the inputting of ink into the skin. It took me a good 6-8 months to understand and find a healthy workflow I was comfortable with. I tattooed myself first which was the first human skin I ever touched with a needle and I did a small yoshi tattoo. That was about 8 months strong into my tattooing journey from the month or April in which I started.

Or is it the cheap skin not taking my lines too well? I understand it's more complicated than that I spent some decent money on my coil machines should I just say fuck it and get a pen I'm kinda to the point where I don't know if it's my equipment or just me and feel a little discouraged myself
