Costco said they are refusing to do away with their DEI program. They said they are proud of it! I am a member of Sam's Club. I pay for the membership that includes delivery. I live about 90 miles away. I use my Sam's card for other things...always paying it in full each month. I always earn enough cash back to pay for my membership. I am 75 and having it delivered to my door has been a blessing. My husband and I both had back surgery in the last couple of years. Like you, getting away from the farm is not easy, but we love it! God bless.

I worked at BJs as a part time job in my early twenties. They were the best employer I've ever worked for. Wait for the $25 special membership offer. Ours came in the mail. We belong to Costco but really like the change of pace at BJ's. Not as many people during the week in our area and the gas lines are shorter too. We like them for their specials and the fact that you can decide which products you like more. Gives you more choices, and THEY ACCEPT COUPONS!

I am weaning off of Costco. The reality is I buy in bulk, and have no need. There are only two of us. I purged last week and was shocked at how much bulk was on my shelf. Yes, I pay .50 more for meat at my tiny grocery- but I only buy what I need…. It saved us a ton when we were building our house….

That's my thought. I share a Costco meambership with my mother, but we only really use it for paper products, pharmacy stuff, and the occasional office supply or whatever. My mother uses it as a grocery store and splits with her neighbors in a retirement community. We used to get our pet food through Costco and it saved us (from grocery store and feed store prices) to pay for the annual membership, but things have changed. Lots to think about for the coming year/s. Gotta make a list of the things that need thought about!

We no longer live near a BJ's but when we did we had a membership and liked it better than the other warehouse clubs. We belong to both BJs and Costco (no Sam's club around here). Bjs is less crowded, gas is convenient and with their credit card I get .15/off a gallon. I use their credit card for everything (pay it off every month) and use the rewards to pay for groceries at BJs. Sizes are generally smaller than Costco, which is good for a small family), they carry my pups' dog food, and I can shop online and pickup at the store. They don't have a pharmacy and their glasses and contacts are more expensive than Costco so we do keep Costco membership for those things. Their app is great and they have coupons too.

I have and have always kept both memberships ( for over 20 years). What one has, the other doesn’t. Bjs has a much larger variety to choose from but Costco has certain items that I won’t buy anywhere else. It’s hard to choose. If your Bjs has gas, it’s the best price anywhere. I have the credit card. I got it because I get an additional fifteen cents off on a gallon of gas with the card. I just pay the full balance off every month. You also get money back with the credit card so it gives you additional savings on purchases inside the store. Hope this helps. ❤

The produce was great, the organic sections were good, and the pineapples were huge! Also, they always ran good deals like Costco, but they would let you stack coupons with their deals and that was great! So, now, that we live in Indiana, they have 2 BJs that are too far away for us to make it worth becoming members right now, but I am very hopeful they build one closer to us! They seem to be building more and more. So I'm definitely on the BJs train!😊 I miss it!😢

I have belonged to Bj's for years. The trick with Bj's is to watch their coupons and use them. Watch for monthly sales with coupons. Their Berkley/Jenson and Welsley Farms products are good products. Personally, I like Dollar General, Dollar Tree, and any discount place I can find. Depending on what I'm buying, Walmart is the is the place I shop. Walmarts are everywhere. You do need to know what to buy, though. There are hidden high prices. Walmarts veggies aren't always the freshest either. I'd love to have a little farm like you. I live in a protected water reservoir area on 3.5 acres. The problem is that our soil is mostly slate and shale. Platform farming isn't easy to do due to an overabundance of wild life(hunting isn't allowed) and anything that might cause damage to the environment isn't allowed. Water runoff has flow certain direction and not into the reservoir. Philadelphia owns the water in the reservoir. They don't allow a lot to go into ther water. I do enjoy the wild life though.

We have a membership to Sam's, BJ's, and Costco. BJs has COUPONS! If you use the products that the coupons are for, you can save good money. There are several things we buy there regularly. Generic (BJ's brand) Afrin, their chocolate chip croissants, certain brand of dog treats, and the 3# box of Oscar Mayer weiners. With coupons, we buy Heinz ketchup, Scott toilet tissue, and other stuff. I may cancel our Costco because I don't like the clientele! RUDE RUDE PEOPLE!

Yes, I find BJ's to have a more personable feel. Good on coupons, reasonable prices on organic produce etc. Was a Costco member for 20+ years until I finally had enough with clientele and staff rudeness.

I don't know anything about BJ's because we don't have them here in Northwest Ohio. I can tell you about my last experience with Costo though. I got to the back of the store and got so sick. I felt like I was going to pass out. I sat down on a pallet and almost immediately an employee came over and asked it I was okay. She asked if I needed water. I had water and said I think I just need to sit for a minute and should be okay. Well I didn't get better and over the next 10 or 15 minutes she checked on me again and two other employees checked on me. Eventually I knew this spell was not going to pass and I needed help. They brought a wheel chair and helped me through the check out and out to my car. They offered several times to call medical help but I knew my blood pressure was bottoming out and I just needed to get to my car and lay back for a bit. They were the absolute sweetest employees I have ever encountered in any store. So if you do go with BJ's I agree DON'T cancel your Costo, they are amazing.

Depends on club - mine was built too small in Gainesville VA so many items are not in stock and spotty availability

So happy the south finally has this store! One because the prices are great and two because no one thinks I"m trolling with a weird innuendo ; D

We are members of both. They are very close to each other and not far from our home. We like the produce better at BJ’s. It is less crowded than Costco. We probably go to. Costco more and we spend more at Costco. We love their hams. They (BJ’S) also have a deli where you can get cold cuts , sliced to order. We live in Southern Ocean County, NJ.

Patara and James I think it would be nice to have a membership just so you have an alternative but if you really like Costco and they have the same things, I don’t see the reason to do it. It was really nice seeing you both though. Sending you blessings, prayers, much love, and a great big hug.❤🙏

Best prices for organic coffee, apples fresh vegetables; and store brand paper step. We’ve been finding Eddie Bauer clothes and shoes at really affordable prices.

I stopped going to Sam’s and Costco years ago when they harassed me about the face diapers. BJ’s never harassed me. good thing, I prefer BJ’s anyway.

I've been a member for two years now and love it. There are some things that they do not have, but I get quite a few things from them. I love the reduced gas prices. They do a promo with the gas a couple of times a year where if you spend $150 you can get the gas at a really reduced price....I want to say it's .50 cents off per gallon, but I could be misremembering. I more than make back the cost of the membership. One thing I really liked is that I got my membership initially online. Usually, ours isn't terribly busy. You can also go online and look at the prices ahead of time and see what coupons they have. I do want to go to Costco to see what it is like and what is available. I did a Sam's Club membership last year to get my husband's hearing aids. It was worth it. I buy a few things from them but do more of my shopping at BJs. They are very close in our area, so I can easily go to both on the same trip. Our Sam's Club is generally packed, the BJs usually is not. I like being able to bag my groceries as I check out, with Sam's, you can't bag until you get to your car. As I said, I really want to check out Costco. Without any experience with Costco, I would recommend BJs. The coupons are very helpful for me, but I usually have my daughter go with me because you have to "clip" the coupons on your phone. I think it would be better to make them automatic for those of us who are less tech-savvy. I think there is a coupon book that you can use, but when I'm in there it can feel overwhelming to try to do that. However, you can clip them before you go in or just take a minute to go through the booklet to see what you want to use. I'm not usually that proactive, though. Lol If you do join, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. God bless y'all.
